I think Pink is underrated.

I know most people dismiss her as a dumb pop star and definitely not as cool or trendy a pick as Regina Spector, Beth Gibbons or Sia. But she has had a career that has spanned 10 years now and has one of the most powerful voices in the music business.

Me and Bobby McGee

Who Knew (live)

Some bonus sexy time:

I touch myself (cover)

My list would be:

2) Beth Gibbons
3) Beth Hart
4) Nina Perssons
5) Pink

Trish Keenan (Broadcast)
Carla Azar (Autolux)
Victoria Legrand (Beach House)
Neko Case
Bilinda Butcher (My Bloody Valentine)
Rachel Goswell (Slowdive)

Annie Clark with her trademark creepy stare.

shes adorable

How can Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Nina Simone get mentioned but Billie Holiday not mentioned at all. Also Dinah Washington is a good jazz vocalist.

I cannot stand Pink. Most songs, even those from shitty artists, I can tolerate if I happen to hear them on the radio. Hers are so grating that I have to change the station.

I'd never heard of Regina Spektor before this thread and I'm listening to her for the first time, right now, on Pandora. The song is called "Folding Chair".

While she's not necessarily one of my favorites, I definitely agree Pink is underrated.

Props on Fiona Apple. I have no clue how I forgot her - I absolutely LOVE her. Out of site, out of mind maybe? :(

PJ Harvey, Roisin Murphy, Bjork, Erykah Badu, Robyn and Tegan & Sara are some female voices I love to listen to. The girl from Autolux has a really cool voice too. Haven't heard any of her more recent stuff but Katie Noonan's is beautiful, so distinctive.

Soviet Kitsch and Songs are my two favorite albums of her. I feel that she's gone downhill starting with Begin To Hope. Great voice, though, and a very charming performer. I saw her play in 2006. It was great.
