Your favorite Game of Thrones quotes?

sf1zEJn.jpg

Not my favourite obviously, but one of the best little jokes in the show.

"Illusions -- only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is." - Petyr Baelish

"Power resides where men believe it resides. It's a trick." - Varys

"There is only one god. You already know his name." - Jaquen Hagar

"We didn't try to hide our disappointment...we told Cersei, 'That's not a monster. It's just a baby.'" - Oberyn Martel

Are the Hound/Arya at the Inn, Jamie's 'confession' in the bath and LFs chaos is a ladder scenes (or equivalent) in the books?

Robert was my favourite for these

"I've been sitting here for days! Start the damn joust before I piss meself"

"It's a neat little trick you do, you move your lips and your father's voice comes out"

"Wear it in silence, or I'll honor you again"

These are great.

Tywin Lannister: And what do they say of Robb Stark in the North?

Arya Stark: They call him the young wolf. They say he rides into battle on the back of a giant Direwolf. They say he can turn into a wolf himself when he wants. They say he can't be killed.

Tywin Lannister: And do you believe them?

Arya Stark: No, My Lord. Anyone can be killed.

This is how the Red Wedding began. Lightbulb went up in Tywin's head. Thanks Arya.

This got me hooked on wanting the see this series to the end, especially since the intro of the show made this a real possibility!

Old Nan: Oh my sweet summer child, what do you know about fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die, all in darkness. That is the time for fear, my little lord, when the white walkers move through the woods. Thousands of years ago there came a night that lasted a generation. Kings froze to death in their castles, same as the shepherds in their huts. And women smothered their babies rather than see them starve, and wept and felt the tears freeze on their cheeks. So is this the sort of story you like?

Robert: WINE!!!

Dumbass little Prick Lancel: "There's no more"

Robert: What?

Dumbass little Prick Lancel: "It's empty your Grace.

Robert: IS THAT WHAT EMPTY MEANS?!!!! GET......................MOARRRRRR!!!!!

Admit it, you read it in Robert's voice.... teehee

I think bad pussy is my actual favorite because I struggle to imagine how a giant production with alleged adults running the show allowed that line to actually make it on screen. Before I heard that line I assumed there was like some sort of process for writing lines and checking with others to make sure it sounds good, maybe some guy that reads the script and okays it, but I assumed wrong.

Oh man, all these s1 quotes. I rewatched the pilot recently anyway, may do a few more. Anything Mark Addy says is gold.

Also fuck it I'm posting my book quote

Khrazz laughed. “Old man. I will eat your heart.” The two men were of a height, but Khrazz was two stone heavier and forty years younger, with pale skin, dead eyes, and a crest of bristly red-black hair that ran from his brow to the base of his neck.

“Then come,” said Barristan the Bold.

if book quotes count, big bucket wull, a character that didn't even make it into the show when asked if he wants to join the battle just to die:

I want to live forever in a land where summer lasts a thousand years. I want a castle in the clouds where I can look down over the world. I want to be six-and-twenty again. When I was six-and-twenty I could fight all day and fuck all night. What men want does not matter. Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned's little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue.

Robert was the greatest. He made all his lines perfect.

"GODS I was strong then!"
And it's perfect to see on screen because it's all done through acting. The lines are loud and full of bravado and strength when on screen he's clearly suffering from severe PTSD from the war and every scene you see how he loathes the responsibility he was saddled with and the burden or rule he abandoned for his own sanity.

Superb acting.

Always liked this one

Tyrion: "Never forget what you are, the rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."

This is probably my favorite quote in the series, mad i couldn't remember it

jesus christ the line is not that bad, as far as bad television quotes go its not even memorable

I can only imagine that people just really get set off by the word "pussy"

"By what right does the wolf judge the lion? By what right?"
"Guards! The Kingslayer!"
"Jaime...my name is Jaime."

The bad pussy line IS as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. It stands out like a store thumb in the series. Doesnt help it comes from one of the worst characters in the worst setting culminating the worst plot of the show.

I echo the question how adults let the 'you want a good girl but need a bad pussy' line pass.

"It is known"

I'm sure there is something by either Davos or Tyrion that I love, but I haven't reread the books in ages.

Explain to me how it is more noble to kill 10.000 people on a battlefield then a dozen at dinner.- Tywin

No matter how much you might dislike him he's completely right here after the red wedding massacre.
