Your favorite game you never played

Most of the early 3D GTAs, like San Andreas. I didn't have a PS2 or PS360 growing up so I just watched friends play them. My first GTA was 5 and I've never gone back to play the older ones.

All of Paradox's Grand Strategy games (Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis)

They look like they could be incredibly fascinating if I actually knew how to play them.

Couple of MSX games like Mr. Ghost look pretty cutesy and fun, but I never bothered to play any of them one way or another

Metal Gear Solid. I know all of the popular quotes and memes for the games but I've never played them.

The games must be pretty good and it's been too long since I've tackled a whole new game series. What a thrill they must be. Snaaaaake. Liquuuuuid.

Look guys, I'm a MGS fan.

Final Fantasy VS XIII.

I was going to say that as a joke, but is it?! Anyways...

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. I love Mario, have beaten most, including 3DW, but haven't played what is regarded as the best in the series. Ive seen a handful of playthrough, I can't wait to play it eventually.

I am generally defensive of Sunset Overdrive and Vanquish despite never having played them.
Sounds like what people are like in review threads. They've never played the game but because of its high budget or developer clout, they'll go to extreme lengths to defend the game. Then when they finally play the game, they go "actually the reviews were on to something".

Cosmic Fantasy. Looked great at the time in the magazines and I loved Working Designs thanks to Lunar: Eternal Blue and other games, but never played it because it was for the TurboGraphx-CD. Now that I'm an adult, I could easily pick it up, but from what I've heard, it hasn't aged very well.

Nier. I just finished watching a playthrough the other day, and wow is that a fantastic story. I was already looking forward to Automata, but now I'm extremely excited, because if I can expect a story like that with the gameplay from the demo, this will be an incredible game.

Tony Hawk's Pro Slater. Used to watch my friend play it all the time but I never played it. I later got THPS2 on release and played that for a large amount of time.

Highly enjoyed Two Best Friends' LPs of Silent Hill 2, 3 and Shattered Memories but aside from a couple of hours of SH2, I never really played any of them.

Cheating answer: Persona 5

Real answer: Currently Assassin's Creed Black Flag, I'm interested in becoming a pirate

Currently FFXIV is definitely, definitely this for me. I own artbooks for a game I've never played! I'm hoping to start playing in the back half of the year if I have enough time. The localization for Heavensward has been so goddamn good, too.

Lost Odyssey is another big one, I keep going back and forth on whether to just grab a 360 or wait a bit longer and get a XBS. Decisions!

Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch.

I'm not into playing competitive multiplayer games myself at all, but I absolutely love to hang out and watch my brother play them.

I've played a lot of games I thought I'd like but ended up not liking them.

..but as to the OP... that's a weird thing to have a favorite game you never played. That's like pretending to like a band and you've never heard a song from them.

Any "bullet hell"-style game. I have neither the skill nor the biggest desire to actually play through one myself, but watching skilled players go through them is just mesmerizing.

These are still amazing to me, but I actually found them less impressive when I actually tried playing a Bullet Hell game and realized how small your hitbox is. For a while I just thought they were somehow gods who could avoid all of that with a normal-sized hitbox.

EVE for me.

Just knowing what I'm into, I would probably wind up slamming my head into my desk from boredom after five minutes of play but damn if I don't love reading the stories and watching the videos that come out of it.

There really is no game quite like EVE.

Super Mario Maker. I've played other Mario games that SMM has styles for, but I have never actually played SMM. I love watching streams of it on Twitch though. Witwix and Trihex to name some streamers.

As a PC gamer, for me these are all console exclusives among which I really would love to play Uncharted 4.

Also I know GTAV is a great game, but for me the brutal content is unacceptable.

MGS series as well.

Bioshock series.

FF series.

And as amiga fan, and Sensible Soccer mega fan I never played Kick Off of which I heard is also very good football game.

Kirby Tilt n Tumble always looked like fun but I never owned a Gameboy Color or that Gameboy Advance player for the Gamecube.

Chibi Robo looks super charming but it's really expensive.

One that comes to mind is Pathologic. I have played a little bit of both of the original version and the remaster, but I will never sit down and actually really play it, its too much of an unforgiving chore.

I've read/watched several LPs though and it do respect it a lot, its one of the best written and atmospheric games ever. I backed the remake and it seems like already shaping up to be a lot more playable (You can run now and have an actually useful map just for starters) so I will probably play through when it comes out.

this is a game that will make you throw your controller.

Thought the game was fine, not hard though.

Heck I got the platinum.

It was Persona until recently. I played 5 minutes of 3, but decided to wait until 5 comes out to experience the series. I have no clue on how I missed out on these titles.

Super Mario Maker

Watch Dashie do his weekly episode Let's Play for some guaranteed laughs. Never owned a wii u, but have a Switch preorder locked in. Here's hoping they either port or make a sequel for the Switch.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2.

Big fan of the mainline Mario games...played and completed SMB1,3, World, 64 to death but i stopped getting Nintendo consoles after SNES (completed and collected all 120 stars in SM64 via Project64 emulator..LOL)..

really wanted to get into another mainline mario games again...but alas i don't have faith in any nintendo home console even if you gifted me one...

Digimon World on PS1

It's just an interesting game with strange development choices that is steeped in a cool, mysterious world. No interest in playing it because of how frustratingly strict it is, but I enjoy the hell out of lets plays of it.

I hate that I didn't get to play this whilst it was alive.
