It's time to determine the definite and undeniably correct ranking of the best SNES games. Have fun and put your own list in the comments!

FF6, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound. Yeah.... I like SNES RPGs. With this list though, there's no wrong picks.

Extremely difficult OP, like I have my back against the wall. lol

OK. I have voted for:

• Super Castlevania IV
• Super Metroid
• The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

NO LUFIA 2
NO BREATH OF FIRE 2

what kind of shit poll is this?

so what gaming zoomer youtube channel did you base your poll on?
got any hidden gems?

superman 64 is so bad amiright?

I went with TMNT, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario World. Given the option, I might've swapped in Terranigma and/or Super GnG and/or Tertris Attack, but yeah my three picks feel right. Shoutout to Kirby's Avalanche and UN Squadron, too.

The only correct choices are DKC2, Super Metroid and Zelda:LTTP

This is not an opinion.

It is fact.

I haven't beat most of those games in 20 years.. it doesn't make much sense for me to vote since I doubt I'd agree with my younger self if I beat them again today.

I did play super mario world through on the 3ds and it was great, I cheated though and used restore points. /sigh

Gameplay wise, SMW all day. In terms of just favorite it would be Doom SNES because I'm fascinated by the port itself.

Lol impossible to choose only one.

For me is a tie between dk2/yoshi island/sf2 turbo/killer instinct/mk3/super mario bros 3/donald duck in maui mallard but i'm probably forgetting some big game...

I originally had Zombies ate my Neighbors in the poll but ultimately switched it for Star Fox. I hope I didn't underestimate how popular that game is cause it's really good.

My own picks are FFVI, Yoshi's Island and Flashback.

What some fine choices, and my top 3 are even on this list. Spactacular!

Secret of Mana
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy VI

(I don't think i have poll access yet, but those would be my picks)

Super Mario World
Link to the Past

Both of those are easy, and likely top 10 games of all time for me

I went with TMNT for 3rd, but I think I'd have gone Super Ghouls and Ghosts had it been there

Super Mario All Stars > Super Mario World
SMB3's monkey organ grinder-quality music alone should disqualify it.

Plus I don't like how the physics for all three were homogenized whereas the original three (well, four including Lost Levels) each had their quirks and unique feel.

There are so many great games on the legendary SNES. But if I had to choose one, it's completely different from the usual games we see.

Mine's Captain Tsubasa 4.

Only 3...and where the heck is Actraiser and SimCity...and FZero and Pilotwings? 😉 Holy cow, I need to get this system hooked back up and play before Animal Crossing takes all my time away from me.

Never played Actraiser.

But when YT popped up and you could check out games, like everyone I'd randomly YT games and see what I missed.

Got to say that if I heard this trumpet intro in 1991, I'd be amazed. SNES had such better sound quality (brass instruments) than Genesis.

I went:
- Chrono Trigger (the best RPG)
- Donkey Kong Country 2 (the best platformer)
- Super Mario All-Stars (the best value package, especially as mine included Super Mario World)

Other choices I considered:
- Street Fighter II (just iconic and the best fighting game on the SNES from my experience)
- TLoZ:ALttP or Super Metroid (best adventure game)
- Yoshi's Island (best visual marble)

I dunno; the Genesis games that used the GEMS engine never sounded too good, but the ones that actually used the hardware right could get some really good sounds in there. A bit unfair to compare them on sound quality tho, SNES is sample-based while Genesis used FM (frequency modulation) synthesis.

Also I just remembered, why no Illusion of Gaia, OP :pie_smirking: ? Game's got a great story and some fun boss battles, probably one of the top 5 action-RPGs on the system after LTTP of course. I'd put Gunman's Proof in there and liked it for the bit I got a chance to play, but didn't finish it.

Very hard to choose. SNES is home of most of my favorite games of all time. That said, Super Metroid is the one that I enjoy replaying the most, I will use that criteria to point the best one, for now.

chose super mario all-stars, super mario world and turtles in time. those are the SNES games i remember playing the most wish u made the results public lol i wanna see who else chose turtles in time

edit:

i still need to beat Link to the Past lol can't believe I haven't beat it yet. Never played FFVI and Chrono Trigger or the Donkey Kong games either. Same with Metroid. mainly only played the Mario games
