Your favorite Video Game character of all time.

I'd have to go with Rachet & Clank even though that's 2, but to me they just perfected the buddy system in games that I first got a taste of in banjo kazooie.
Plus who doesn't love their humour even after so many years. Here's hoping for yet another revival that the future series gave to them.

Besides the usual suspects (Mario and Luigi, Samus and Sonic, etc) gotta give a shoutout to...

Dante for having the perfect attitude for a self-confident, nigh-invincible badass:
DMC4_Screens__Dante_Rose_Toned_by_rog1234.jpg

And Garrus Vakarian for being just so damn likeable:

Captain Quark. He may just be a Zap Brannigan-style archetype, but it's so well done, his presence makes R&C games 100% funnier and more entertaining. I hate when there's a plot device that keeps him offscreen.

I'll take some heat for this, but Pascal from Tales of Graces might be my favorite character.

Hmm... Can't pick just one.

Sergeant Avery Johnson (Halo)
Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect)
Hector (Fire Emblem)
Ezio Auditore (Assassins Creed)

Difficult for me to choose only one:

Ganondorf_Wind_Waker.png

Ganondorf, specially in his Wind Waker incarnation, his best design and he is given a bit of characterization that makes him more human, i felt a little sorry for him.

Leon from Resident Evil, although i liked him best in RE4

This is easy.

Miles Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney)

Miles-Edgeworth.jpg

In a series full of incredibly well written characters, Edgeworth stands taller than the rest of the Ace Attorney cast. Though the first Ace Attorney game depicts Phoenix's first cases as a defense attorney, at it's core, the game is really about Edgeworth, and how his past more or less shaped the direction of his and Phoenix's lives. He has by far the best and most believable character arc throughout the series, and you can always count on the game getting just that more intense whenever he shows up.

It's really, really hard to go into detail about what makes him great without spoiling a huge chunk of his character arc in the games, so I'll leave a quote that perfectly encapsulates everything he stands for:

Alucard and Samus would be my runner-ups.

Edgeworth would definitely be my runner up. He's the one character in Ace Attorney who's been consistently good and well written, and has the most growth out of all the characters as the series goes on. I think I prefer him and
his father
as protagonists after playing Investigations 2 to any of the other lawyers in the series.

KING DEDEDE

A jerk with a heart of gold, has a great design, carries a giant hammer and has the best ducking pose in Super Smash bros.

I had to think about it for a while but I think Phoenix Wright is my favourite. He's just so passionate and does everything for the people he believes in, he's a very admireable man for a video game character.

Solid Snake. As Kid Rock once said, American Bad Ass.

The Legend that is...

Warioland4.jpg

I've always been quite partial to Wario, a character that truly shines in his own series. (Well, compared to his appearances in various Mario spinoffs!) Be it Wario Land or Warioware, I can't help myself but love his greedy and selfish ways of doing things. On surface, he's just an Evil Mario with lust for money...and maybe that's all he is. Still, this cunning character can often be pretty charming and comical, and he's quite consistent with his personality. I'm pretty fond of his design that supposedly contrasts Mario's rounded-ness, in which Wario is more jagged and muscular.

Runner up goes to Solid Snake.

Ryu is my spirit animal.

Kirby :3

I'm a guy that loves food. So the concept of being able to eat anything is amazing to me.

Not to mention that he's adorable :3

Just behind Yoshimitsu

Frog, Chrono Trigger. The lack of his presence in almost any way shape or form really makes it hard to be interested in Cross.

Luigi.

He's seen some shit.

Also, Kirby, Yoshi and John Marston.

Samus and Ridley pre-Other M are close contenders. Dark Samus is nice too.

And ah, Wei fucking Shen! Love him.

All of them. Still the best RPG cast by far.

I'm really sorry everyone, I know I quoted like 10 users, but after trying to narrow it down with each page, my list only grew...

Also, shout-outs to:

As a new favorite.

Master Chief. The armor, the personality, the voice, the heroics, and reading the novels helped flesh out his character big time and made me respect him.

I thought about this for awhile and I just don't have a particular individual in mind, but the general cast of Yakuza 3 and 4 is my choice for best game characters.

-Kiryu's status as a family man as of Yaku3 along with his reaction towards a certain character's death driving him into a blood rage, made for some manly tear inducing moments.

-Haruka initially began as Kiryu's morality pet but has since grown into a character all on her own. Effectively turning into a surrogate daughter-figure in the sequels.

-Mine, compared to other villains in the series, is a pretty human character. Perhaps a tad bit too complex for this series.

-Goro Majima is...well he's freaking Goro Majima!

-Taiga Saejima initially came off as a hardcore thug breaking out of prison, but wound up being one of the more interesting characters of Yakuza 4. He even retroactively added some depth to Goro's character and backstory.

-Akiyama is just Mr. Cool in general. Rags-to-riches backstory with a kick-ass fighting style.

I can't honestly say absolute favorite character because that changes too much, but Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 1 and 3 is on my list.

I can't decide between Guybrush Threepwood and Manny.
One thing I know though is that I love Lucas Arts games and can't wait for Grim Fandango HD.

These are from top of my head, there are many more though. Specially from Nintendo. They have some iconic characters.

I never stopped to think about it. There so many cool game characters I can't really pick one... But here are some I considered:

Clementine (The Walking Dead), The Boss (Metal Gear Solid 3), Dudley (Street Fighter 3), Dhalsim (Street Fighter 2), Manny Calavera (Grim Fandango), Frog (Chrono Trigger), GLaDOS (Portal), Totakeke (Animal Crossing), Deckard Cain (Diablo).

I guess I like flawed, scarred, goofy loners or underdogs who do their own thing.
