Your favourite game sucks

My favorite game of all time is tennis.

SpaceWar! is just a sad, pathetic effort by physically unfit and weak commoners, attempting to create a game they could actually excel at, as the sport of kings was too demanding, and too high class, for their greasy, blubbery bodies to ever dream of performing with even the most rudimentary competence.

SpaceWar! is perhaps the worst version of tennis ever made. One must imagine it's fans, and creators, suffer endless shame, their dignity long since broken and torn, the last shred sealed away deep inside under endless layers of humiliation and suffering.

Hold no hate for fans of SpaceWar!, hold in your hearts only pity, for their torment is unfit for even the worst of humanity.

DOOM, DOOM 2, and Quake LOL at your thread.

I heard them, they're literally mocking you from my steam game list.

Link in OP mentions first person Space War.

Oh, and Super Metroid, Earthbound, Advance Wars: DS.

Honorable mention to Ouendan, SSBM, and Chaos Theory.

Eh.
I don't think Chibi Robo applies.

When was the last time a house keeping robot helped pirates and prevented a divorce?

Though, yes, to me it felt like a breath of fresh air... and I did go back and play it recently... and I love it still. And it's not nostalgia goggles. What I liked about it then I like now. A quirky platformer with plenty of colour and charm. It was flawed then, and still is... but it never took away from what I liked about it. I don't consider it "revolutionary" in the least. It's just a cute game that I picked up on a whim that was one of the last times I went into a game I loved completely blind, and discovered everything on my own. I hadn't watched 1000 trailers, or read 1000 previews.

The game is a pretty good game, with a lot of charm and just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Mid-way through the OP I was thinking "You don't know shit about my favourite game. Star Control 2 was fucking awesome". The fact you mentioned a game that was a direct influence to mine is maximum bizarre.

Bravo, VKS. You've succeeded in creeping me the fuck out.

Better bosses and world? Sure. But dark world tedium and absurd key hunt brought it down a few notches. Still an amazing game though; Retro is by far my favorite developer of the last decade. DKCR2 or bust.

On topic - Two more favorites of mine, F-Zero X and GX. Arguably two of the best racing games ever made, and the only two that can keep my attention past the first lap.

You are a squirrel. You don't know how to play video games.

Also, Okami laughs at your pessimism.
Even though you're mostly right.

I guess the Cardigans were right when they sang...

"And I'm losing my favourite game
you're losing your mind again
I'm losing my baby
losing my favourite game."

Boss-wise, sure. Well, at least Quadraxis. But the repetitiveness of the Dark World kept it from touching the original overall.

My favorite game is probably still Sonic 3. OP's probably right about the main character, but the gameplay just gets better with age if anything.
