Your favourite Multi-Player Online Map

After Creek or whatever that POS was called, Block was easily my most hated map in Call of Duty 4. God, I hated that map.

I fucking loved Bloc, it was so much fun sprinting around the perimeter the endurance and stealth perks, using a silenced mp5 navy, claymores and my knife to troll the ever living fuck out of the snipers.

Halo CE: Hang 'Em High

This is it GAF.

Counter Strikes Militia stole my 14th year on this earth, I will forever love it; the anticipation of if you're going to have your face shot off as you scurry through the thick CT smoke in a dash to the rock face, the apprehension as you wait for an enemy to pop his head into the vent as you camp in the garage, the elation of running up the ladder on the left, entering the villa and taking out the entire terrorist team with your TMP.

I don't think I'll ever have as much fun on a multiplayer map.

I second lobby from The Specialists. Fuck what I'd give to have a deathmatch title akin to The Specialists right now :(

edit: i'm very impressed by the lack of love for the classics ... way too much this gen maps =P

1V1 Rail Matches are godly here.

Took 2 pages ... but finaly the real answer comes in 2 posts praticaly at the same time xD !

A lot of these are obvious but still:

de_dust2
de_nuke
pl_badwater
surf_greatriver
surf_leet_xl
ctf-facingworlds/face/faceclassic (the UT one posted earlier in the thread)

I'm a newb to online gaming (been a gamer for close to 30 years now and only this gen have I dipped my toes into online) so from my very narrow perspective, my favorite online maps right now are Village and Sanctuary from Uncharted 2.

Oh, man. Golden Gun death matches here were the absolute best. The man with the gun hold up in the bathroom as the three others tried to storm the room and take it from him. Awesome times.

de_dust2 from Counter Strike: Source

or

Blood Gulch from Halo: CE

Doesn't get much better than those two.

These, also Office from CS and SHIPMENT from COD4!

SHIP-MENT, SHIP-MENT, SHIP-MENT!

Battle of the Bulge from Battlefield 1942. Everyone says Wake, which is a great map, but also very linear compared to most of the good BF maps. Bulge is great, it lots of tank combat, long and short range infantry combat, flags changing hands all over the place. Also one of the few maps where the artillery and spotter combination works brilliantly. No planes ruining the fun either :lol

Chiron TL-34 / Putt-Putt if we're not too strict about the "online" part. Although I guess the PC port was online, and also introduced Death Island and Gephyrophobia, great maps.

Salamun Market was outstanding, Guardian/Lockout are both great. I've also got a ton of love for Gravel Pit.

I will also never really forget the crazy recursive nightmare that is "5D Space" from Marathon. I was really late to that party and barely played any online matches before the 360 version, but that map hurts my head to this day.

And previously mentioned

Q2DM1 - The Edge

Wake Island from BF1942

Temple and Complex from Golden Eye

The only correct answer is Lockout from Halo 2, the map had such a great flow and maneuvering around the map was a thing of beauty. The abomination known as Blackout does not exist.

My favorite map of all time is Blackout from Halo 3. They took a decent map from Halo 2 and tricked it out with an awesome setting, tight graphics, and crazy things like a basketball hoop!

de_nuke.jpg

de_nuke.jpg

Definitely de_nuke from cs1.6

followed closely by dust2. On the opposite end of the spectrum is de_train, my most hated map of all time.

Garden of War (Warcraft II and Warcraft III versions), followed by Lost Temple (Starcraft). GoW is just such an amazing map...

I do not like BGH though, I always disliked money maps and that's Blizzard's version of one.

I'm not the biggest Halo fan, but I gotta give it to bungie, they make a good map. What really makes Halo special is how the gunplay is so drastically different between indoor and outdoor areas, it's almost like playing two different games. You can completely dominate vehicles outdoors and then head into a base just to get owned by someone who's better equipped for close quarters. They really know how to use map space to create interesting confrontations.

Also, the secret jumps in maps are insanely well done.

That layout is crazy similar to the layout of a HL2 mod map I was working on years ago. Foig.

I agree; they take the multiplayer map cake.

For me it is definitely mp_beach from Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Played that map a ridiculous number of times.

Runners up:

Wolfenstein ET - Gold Rush
Soldier of Fortune 2 - The rooftop level and the market level. Love that game.
Perfect Dark - Temple remake
Conker's Bad Fur Day - The big level with towers on each side... can't remember what it's called.

I do love the Dust maps those are 2 of the best. Loved Manchester and Somersette from R1, and Temple/village from UC2.
