Your favourite PS1 intro FMVs

First two posts have me covered.

Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy VIII
Soul Blade

Me and my family used to watch these again and again....

Sure there wre other really good ones, but these stood out. Particularly Chrono Cross
 
The PSX game with a disc that had some demos and trailers. One of them was for some game with a robot walking through dark industrial corridors. It was rendered in CG and the soundtrack was pulsing techno. Man I loved that trailer. Must have watched it 30 times.
 
I'm not sure how many people know about this game. But I really like the FMV intro to a PS1 game called Eternal Eyes. I know it's on YouTube, but I'm on mobile right now and YouTube sucks on mobile.

Anyway, Chrono Cross, Resident Evil 2, and Final Fantasy VIII are at the top of my list. I look forward to seeing the rest of what people link!

Agreed, the GT1 intro is amazing. It'd be great if they re-did the same intro for GT6 with modern assets as a nod to the original.
 
Anyone remember that part in FFVIII where you're running through the warzone between the Gardens?

Shit was incredible back in the day. FFVIII is amazing, I don't give a shit what people say. Back in the day when everyone judged a PS1 RPG based off from its CG cutscenes, this shit was the one everyone compared them to.

I used to LOVE FMVs and I was dominantly and N64 fanboy :(

Until I got a Ps1 and man was I in heaven.

I'll vote Resident Evil 2 and FF8.

I remember Legend of Legaia having some badass FMVs.
 
Ghost in the Shell, Breath of Fire 4, and Soul Edge mos def. And Chrono Cross is god-tier, dat music.

Oh indeed. My first transition from the 16-bit era was through the Saturn, and Panzer Dragoon and NiGHTS's intros blew me away.

I often like these "vintage" FMVs more than modern cut scenes. When technology was more difficult and less powerful, they had to make efforts into the content. Things went downhill went we started seeing FMVs for this stupid worthless bullshit. Give me those cool primitive CG that tells a good story over this crap any day.
 
Ugh, love this thread, but on a semi-OT note, does anyone know the name of that google chrome app that lets you see the youtube videos in the threads themselves. I'm explaining this horribly, but its like, currently, I just see some random youtube link, I have to click it and try and find out what video it actually is, which is not so bad on this topic, but is the worst in those threads where people link their favorite music osts and stuff. That app sorta shows you a preview icon of the youtube video, and lets you watch it right in the thread itself. Alot like what you would see if you were viewing on a mobile device.

I remember someone linked it in one of these countless youtube video threads, and I actually d/led it and used it, and it was awesome, but my PC crashed a while ago, and I couldnt actually remember what it was called.

Turn up the volume too:D Man just look at it, psygnosis needs to reform to make a rollcage 3 on ps4 and PC... it was one of the best psx games.

edit: Nope, wasn't Kileak. I thought you meant the original purple demo disc that came with launch systems in N.A.

I also loved the Chrono Cross intro. That intro and CG was excellent. Still looks awesome on the Vita's OLED. Lol.

I watch it regulary even today after all these years.


That was the intro which made me into 3d and animation!:)
