Your "fuck this shit" gaming moments

i just had a "fuck this game" moment.

I am playing Fallout 3 for the first time, and im finding it to be more aggrevating than fun. but the moment that had me call it quits was when i was in Rivet City. i saw a Psycho Pack on someone's desk, and i took it. suddenly the entire base wants to shoot me. i have no stim packs on me and my health is near empty. i cant escape, i cant start over because of the "auto save." i have had it with this game.

Maybe you should save more often?
And maybe you shouldn't steal?
Maybe you could have gone to a doctor?
Maybe you could have bought stimpaks?

So many options... but, you know, let's blame the game!

Also Red Dead Redemption: Collect 232323293232392329 more of plant/meat/feather/whatever in addition to what you already have! Fuck that!

This is one of the only things I didn't like about RDR. Why the fuck does it matter whether I got it before or after I started the challenge? I could have a hundred of whatever herb they want me to collect and none of that shit counts? Really?

Playing the game wrong :P

Everything you do in fallout can change something, if you steal an item (crosshair turns red when you look at it) you are going to cause problems if someone sees you do it, if you really want to thief an item you need to crouch and make sure no one sees you but this adds to your terrible person count or whatever.

Were you playing it just like any other FPS?

any racing game with rubberbanding AI is automatically worthless

This exactly this. There is no excuse. If I'm good let me be good. Rubber banding just breaks the "rules" of the game. "You're too good. We'll just make the car's faster!". Same with power-up based stuff. Either make it truly random, for everyone, at all times or fuck the fuck out of here.

about the 800th time I got killed because I missed something slightly and the game's Sonic 3d-tier shitty game design I was ready to quit, especially when I got to the point where you run along top of a moving subway train and I realized they made this part of the game not fun at all.

wasn't even worth the $5 I paid for it on steam. terrible game, and along with Black, it's proof that DICE should just stick to battlefield games.

I think this is more of a "Just get fucking better" gaming moment...

Ninja Gaiden 2, master ninja difficulty. Ok, you all know about projectile spam, cheap deaths, terrible camera, etc. I don't care, the game's still great.

But then I reach the end of chapter 3, beat the boss and when the bastard is lying flat on his back, ready to be obliterated, he fucking disappears. I had to reload the last checkpoint, and it happened twice in a row.

FUCK.THIS.SHIT.

Persona 4: beetle-creatures that reflect all physical damage back at the attacker paired with monsters that cast berserk on you. Nothing says "fun" like watching your main character kill himself in one hit without being able to do anything.

I quit Silent Hill 4 right at the beginning at the first nurse looking chick I had to fight, the controls just sucked too much, I couldn't win that stupid fight. I've beaten much more difficult games and love the series as a whole, but fuck Silent Hill 4.

Somewhere in GTA4 is a lone pigeon that I have not killed, somehow I missed it despite using a guide for them. So I either have to go back through all the locations I've been to already or start another game to get to 100%. Fuck that shit.

lol at you for starting that ridiculous achievement in the first place. Fuck that fetch shit.

I loved FFTA and beat it. Now, I'm playing the sequel.

The laws are even more bullshit than before. In one battle, I could get penalized for MISSING. Yeah, and I managed to do that when the Fire spell has a 95 PERCENT CHANCE OF HITTING.
Fortunately, even though this was a clan trial, it didn't affect much.

Still, it's stupid to put something like that on a randomly occurring variable.

Brutal Legend - The first section in the game when you escape after the worm boss. You have to drive over the bridge and there are a few jump sections there. I have never had so much trouble with something that looked so simple. I kept failing over and over again and really felt like trial and error to me. I kept missing the jumps or just not going too far or something.

I finished it after around 10 tries, played a little more and when they introduce the stuff for controlling those dudes I failed again with the objective there. The game is a mess and I said to myself fuck this shit. I want to like the game because it screams awesome to me but it is punishing me when playing it.

Justice is harsh in the Capital Wasteland. Don't steal unless you know no one is watching.

Urg so much fail in this post.

Getting owned by hackers in MoH Beta!

I know what your thinking, Hacking....... In a BETA!?!

Little 15 year old shit heads thinking they're so fucking LEET in their little fucking clans, It pisses me off so fucking bad... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

Every day I play social horde mode on hardcore and see how bad my horde teammates are who get killed right away and then I have to take care of the rest of the wave by myself.

SuperRoboTaisen : OG was great up until the last level. I was backed into a corner where I wasn't high enough level to win and there was no way to grind. It was enough to make me pull out the cartridge, try to break it (and fail), then say, "Fuck this shit."

The final (I think) boss of Devil May Cry 4.

He has some ridiculous charge move that is unblockable unless you do one specific thing.

That one specific thing being grabbing him with Nero's devil arm. Unfortunately you've just gotten Nero back after being Dante for the second half of the game. This results in you mildly forgetting that you have the devil arm in the first place.

After 3 or 4 tries I threw my controller. That's the first time I've done that in a long time. I then looked up a FAQ and felt really dumb.

Majora's Mask. Snowhead dungeon. Was not perfectly center when jumping across the main room. Fall down. Don't have fire arrows yet. Climb all the way back up.

Right now on the
242nd
star in Mario Galaxy 2.
"Oh, you've finished this ludicrously complicated ROMhack-level stage? Alright then, here's the next challenge: DO THE SAME AGAIN, but WITHOUT TAKING A HIT and NO CHECKPOINTS! WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I'm sooooooooo close to throwing in the towel, but considering how much I've gone through to get there it doesn't feel right to give up already. But really, I seriously want to hurt somebody over it.

I can't remember if I posted in this thread but anyway here is a recent one.

More of an almost FTS moment, I was playing crackdown and if you've played the game finding 500 agility orbs in the city with or without a guide is tedious and frustrating. I had been looking for my LAST green orb off and on for about a year when I finally heard it....that pulsing green orb sound. I was so excited but for the life of me could not find this fucker. Eventually I jumped down and I got ran over by a los muertos car and was getting so angry that I couldn't find this last damn orb I was so ready to scream at the top of my lungs and there it was behind a building sign just sitting there. Phew.

I hate to break this to you pal, but you don't level up randomly in CC. There's an invisible exp bar that keeps track of your exp, you get 777 when it maxes out :)

Sorry for the late reply. That's what i initially thought as well but then i leveled up twice in two consecutive fights then not again for over an hour or more.

And yeah material grinding was the best way to get stronger but having a higher level also helped i found.

Same here. "Im supposed to do what? Oh right."

Goddamn MGS4 on big boss extreme, trying to get the no alerts no kills under a certain time.

I beat the game, no alerts, no kills, 8 goddamn minutes over the limit. Then I bit my controller so hard it broke, and my tooth chipped, and preceded to dent my refrigerator by punching it. Not exaggerating at all here.

EDIT: Of course I also yelled "fuck this shit", spitting blood at the same time to stain the sofa :(

In GTA IV when I got done doing a mission in a museum (I think?) that took me quite a few tries and I was outside right about to hit the goal and got run over and killed by a random car.

In Bioshock when the enemies at the end of the game looked like the ones at the beginning but were 10 times harder to kill.

After almost completing unlimited saga with Ventus, I failed hard on the final boss about 20 times then promptly traded the game back in.

I put a rental copy of Nier into my 360, tried to make sense of the intro, hit glowy golden ring monsters for 10 minutes and said 'fuck this shit' then promptly sent it back on its merry way.

I almost did the same with Resonance of Fate.. man that game does NOT do a good tutorial. Luckily it made sense after a while and I'm hooked now :D

Ninja Gaiden: where you are fighting that big float snake head in the subway and instantly kill you in seconds. From that point, "fuck this game"

Recently, in Links Awakening, anytime I go up to one of those green crystals and tells me it's a peculiar object, or when it said it's too big for you to lift with your bare hands. UGH.

In God of War, those damn climbing things with the spikes on the last page. UGH.

For all the people who said Mirror's Edge, I hope you were talking about the speedruns and time trials. Because if you're talking about the story mode being hard, you probably shouldn't be playing video games.

Anytime I've played for a while and the game freezes on me is a "fuck this shit" moment. Seems to happen a lot this generation, but most notable was probably Assassin's Creed. Apparently, running too fast will freeze the game. Fuck that shit.

I'll just climb up this ladder oh wait 4 guys shot me to death while I was defenceless. FUN!
Putting guns in that game was a poor choice.

That's intense, man. Maybe you should have skipped the cutscenes.

Super Street Fighter 4
I just suck too much to have any fun any more. Everybody's passed me by at this point and I lack the will to 'level up' enough, so fuck it.

Last nite I was almost ready to throw my Wii remote at the screen with Rock Mario in the Melty Monster galaxy... or the monkey's challenge where you're ice skating.. both took me a whole ton of tries to manage. I don't remember the first Galaxy being that tough (got 120 stars with it pretty quickly).

:lol So right dude. Nothing to do with his run being just over the target time, they just really suck.

Fuck off dude, that's a shitty opinion to have. Besides, it's a weird game to have that opinion on, ME is really tricky to get to grips with.

Reaching the Jordan solos for the first time.
Pretty much the first level on Resistance
Call of Duty 4 ferris wheel on hardened (hardened ffs...)
Pretty much the whole of GTAIV
Lots of times involving Praetorian and Mechs on Mass Effect 2 on Insanity >_<
Mirror's Edge on hard where you start in that van and have no idea where to go, and that stupid damn ninja. i hate ninjas.
