Deep learning. When you play it at first you suck but you slowly learn how to fight and you keep getting better all the time. Then eventually you become this godly player who hears and sees and understands everything in the game (the enemies and their patterns and what you need to do to beat them the best way and such) - though with Platinum games that'd take a looot of time because the systems can be so deep.Nah man. I seriously Dont.
How does that matter at all that it's a PSN digital exclusive?Journey is by no means a poor game, but a PSN digital exclusive doesn't strike me as GOTY material.
Isn't everyone in this thread being contrarian?
The main point about it is that it's hard but all the more rewarding. Really shouldn't be that hard to understand even though obviously some people don't care about such.
That seems really silly, no offense. The first is one of the most highly rated games in its genre.Bayonetta 2. I just don't like anything about it really. The story's not interesting to me, the combat gets very repetitive (I don't care for DMC either), and it just feels like people blindly praise it because Nintendo saved it.
Definitely MGS3 and MGS4. I just don't get it. Aside from production, Kojima is severely overrated. The storylines are convoluted, the characters are beyond ridiculous...I just dont' get the love for the series at all.
Yeah I can see that. Not everyone gets those feelings obviously and not everyone likes the game.I understand what you are saying but having played them I didn't get that feel at all and felt absolutely no desire to return to that. I'm really happy that I didn't give into the hype of the first game by buying it (just borrowed it) because I would have been more than annoyed. That's one of the few times I would have felt justified in a return (but since I wouldn't get one I'd probably just send it back to Kamiya with a note lol).
It is really silly, but I know a few people who do. They didn't care in the slightest about the IP when it was on 360 or PS3, but when it's coming to Wii U, suddenly it's hype city and anyone who's not onboard is butthurt it's not coming to their favorite system. That seems really silly, no offense. The first is one of the most highly rated games in its genre.
The combat is repetitive only if you play it superficially anyway.

the first one was diffidently praised a lot here on neogaf, and was much better then bayonetta 2 for its time, was on a way bigger install base and only got number 4 on the goty lists, the main reason it won goty here cause it was exclusive.

But call it horrible and rotten garbage because of that?
All of you saying Portal 2 are horrible people. Every single one of you.

that makes no sense. in the year bayonetta 1 didn't win goty, it was a multiplatform game at the top of the list.
Definitely Mass Effect 2 for me. Aside from recruiting characters there was almost no plot. The story was one of my favourite things about ME1, so I thought ME2 was a huge let-down.
my main point was console exclusives will get more points, cause of people pushing a agenda.

Eh? did you get it cheap or for free? Otherwise it seems a bit odd to buy a game that had no appealing qualities to you.
Journey, despite voting for it in 2012. It's just not a game that you can really go back to again and have the same kind of experience. Still, it was pretty amazing at the time.
2004- Metal Gear Solid 3
2005- Resident Evil 4
2006- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2007- Super Mario Galaxy
2008- Metal Gear Solid 4
2009- Uncharted 2
2010- Mass Effect 2
2011- Portal 2
2012- Journey
2013- The Last of Us
2014- Bayonetta 2

Yeah, I thought Portal 2 was great. The only (potential) problem with it is sometimes the puzzles could wreck the pacing, but YMMV. I got stuck on one or two for a while, before finally noticing the key to the way forward.I liked Portal 2 a lot. I thought it sagged a bit in the middle but it was still a massive upgrade over the first game. Stephen Merchant's voice and inane chitchat for the dopey sidekick Wheatley was perfect.
This is true. I mean if anyone doubts this just look at this years winners.
Not denying Dark Souls qualities but the massive downgrade it went through surely didn t help and understandably so.Imru al-Qays;147910700 said:Well, it did get game of the year the same year that the game of the generation was released.
