I'm extremely pumped for its spiritual successor, Mutant Football League (notice the re-arrangement of the words), which is due in 2016 and is being designed by Michael Mendheim, the same man behind the original game!

NHLPA '93 Like you I wasn't a ice hockey fan but I fucking loved that game. So much so that it didn't leave my MegaDrive slot for well over a year, and the only thing that pulled me away from playing it was taking delivery of my N64. After that it'd be ISS '98 on said N64.

Someone please do another arcade/sim mix football game, please!

Baseball Stars and Tecmo Super Bowl (NES versions, as if that needed clarifying) were my go to sports games for the better part of a decade as a child.

I was actually thinking earlier today about Baseball Stars and which 2015 Yankees would fill the roster spots and what I'd have to name them to fit the 6 character name edit.

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds sucked me in, though. Easily a couple thousand hours spent playing it online. A few hours a night (or more) most nights for a couple years.

I've put a lot of time into a lot of sports games over the years. It's absurd honestly. All types, all systems.

But I have to say NFL 2K5 was the most played. I was obsessed with that game. I would spend hours just building a playbook (you could actually make the plays in that game, not just pick from a list) and then bring it into practice mode... god as many great sports games have been out over the decades. 2K5 was king of the hill, for me.

I used to play a lot more sports games than I do now, though I did play quite a lot of Virtua Tennis 4 when the Vita launched. Most modern sports games just don't look all that fun.

So I played a lot of it during my higschool years. I don't even like soccer/football and I'm not a big fan of sports games either, but I'm pretty good at this one
