One thing I find quite interesting, and I'm not sure if it's been touched upon yet (probably), is how wrong every gaming publication, website, rumor, blog, etc., was about the name. Game Informer's rumor about it being called "Nintendo", then the Stream rumors, then Current, then whatever else... all of em turned out to be wrong. Some of them were from big name mags and sites. What does that tell you about the games media?

It is dumb. I don't by the whole " oh wii was we so now wii 2 is you" bull.

I mean, if your gonna still use the Wii name, just call the thing Wii2 or WiiHD. I actually thought Stream was a decent name.

On one hand I think they were smart keeping the Wii name because a lot of casual gamers are familiar with it, on the other I think it may confuse those same people. LOL.

I don't like it. It doesn't make "sense" to me from a marketing perspective. It makes me think Wii [Collegiate] Sports. Also, it's close weeboo or borrows the uDraw "u" making it seem cheap or copycat.

Every time I read Wii U I keep thinking it's an abbrevation for Wii United Football Club.
