Seriously, there's like 50 movies I can think of to put on my top 10 list that just popped on my head. Where do I put Casablanca, or In the Mood For Love, or Robocop, or Raging Bull, or The Manchurian Candidate, and...fuck, man. Ask me for a Top 100, that'll be easier.

Better Off Dead is the greatest teen movie of all time. So underrated, and vastly superior than Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

The Third Man
Annie Hall

Tokyo Story

*List may vary over time.

Lawrence of Arabia

Mulholland drive
Vertigo

Oh Brother where art thou?
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Seventh Seal

Days of Heaven, 12 Angry men, Paths of Glory and Barry Lyndon are just outside the top 10. 10 movies is just so little...

Good list, out of those I've seen Dr. Strangelove, A Seperation & Mulholland Drive.

I really need to watch Taxi Driver, it's one of those classics i never got around to seeing.

As a film buff and a student of cinema, I can't objectively say it's the greatest film of all time, but to me, nostalgia goggles and all, it's the greatest movie of all time.

Well done homage to Bruce Lee films, dope soundtrack, great one liners, the hottest girl of the 80s, 80s camp and cheese in full force and easily my favorite antagonist of any film ever. Dude's like a video game villain come to life.

KISS MY CONVERSE.

I don't know about top 10, but I just watched Apocalypse Now for the first time earlier this week:

Holy. Shit.

Better off Dead is seriously my favorite Teen film of all time. Unless you consider stuff like The Goonies, The Sandlot, The Monster Squad, etc to be Teen films.

Would you consider a college hijinx film to be a teen film? I say this because I generally consider Better Off Dead to be my second favorite 80s teen film, but only because Real Genius is the champ in my book.

4. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises

Me and my brother watched teh movie when we younger, and we just fell in love with it. This shit is like a feature-length commercial for Motown Records, complete with a music video interlude, but it's sooooo much more entertaining then it has any right to be.

And Vanity, with the big 80s hair and all...so adorable

Revenge of the Nerds
Oldboy
Brick
Beverly Hills Cop
Fellowship of the Ring
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Big Trouble in Little China
The Living Daylights
Zodiac
L.A. Confidential
Traffic
The Warriors

Sure I forgot something

I've actually never seen Better off Dead. I'll have to check it out sometime. I also wouldn't consider The Goonies or The Monster Squad teen films. I'd classify The Breakfast Club, Risky Business, Ferris Bueller, and The Karate Kid as teen films though.

I actually haven't seen the film, but I certainly believe there's enough overlap between films set along High School or College backdrops to effectively place the two within the same bubble. The themes and overall sensibilities between the two are effectively the same.

Films like The Goonies and The Sandlot are completely different IMO.

I keep my Flickchart handy for times like these, except when I actually visit the site, I sort of hate my top ten list. Whatever.

Sweet jesus.

I think it's a joke. (At least, my list was...)

I was kidding ;)

(I do love Barry Lyndon though).

To be honest, I'm not sure I could list a top ten. I enjoy so many films, but mostly what I want to watch comes down to my mood at the time and if I were to construct a top ten, I'm not sure how often I'd be in the mood to watch any of those films.

Also, I will say that despite Terminator 2's godlike future war sequence at the start of the film, for me, The Terminator is a superior film.

I feel like these threads should always contain two lists:

The greatest movies of all time; ie. movies that are narratively, thematically, visually and auditorily sound, with great performances to boot.

And...

Films that you personally found the most enjoyment from. While there is sometimes overlap between the two, generally the latter is filled with mainstream films, cult classics, guilty pleasures, etc that would not generally make the former.
