Pandorum (I love movies like Event horizon)...and that's pretty much it.I can't wait for Shutter Island, looks so freaking godly it's unfathomable.

Any combo of the following:
- Where the Wild Things Are
- The Road
- Nine
- Invictus
- The Lovely Bones
- Sherlock Holmes
- Brothers

Where the Wild Things Are is definitely right up there, serious man for the coen brothers movie, always quality, and Zombie land for campy ridiculous fun and Woody Harrelson.

I will see more movies, but those are the 3 I most want to see, and I can't wait to see the reviews and impressions on Avatar.

Haven't read it, but after the premiere John Hillcoat said he screened it for Cormac McCarthy and he absolutely loved it. That's a good sign.

Chuck also said the same thing about
made for tv movie
Choke though....

the trailer for this was awful

Props on including Precious OP, one of the best films of the year.

1. The Road
2. Ninja Assassin
3. Black Dynamite
4. The Informant
5. Where the Wild Things Are

In that order. I'll probably rewatch Precious as well.

1. The Road (seen it already - amazing: 9/10)
2. Up in the Air (seen it already - incredible: 9.5/10)
3. Where the Wild Things Are

I'll have to rethink my top 3 now!

Had you read the book? Curious how it holds up against that.

Glad to hear both you and DanielPlainview liked it though, that's encouraging.

Edit: And my top three are The Road, Where the Wild Things Are, and uhh Avatar, due entirely to Cameron hype and not the trailer.

I have read the book. It obviously is not as good as the book (never is) but it's still absolutely phenomenal. It follows it pretty faithfully while adding some flashback scenes.

1)Princess and the Frog-its 2D which is sadly rare and must be supported by fans like me either way
2)Avatar
....needs to go watch apple trailers...

This is a really awful year for movies.

A so-so year for fall releases, sure. It's been one of the best summers in a long while, though.

1. Zombieland
2. Broken Embraces [New Almodovar]
3. The Lovely Bones
(4. Where the Wild Things Are)

But if Magnolia actually were to push Bong Joon-Ho's Mother out for a 2009 release, that would jump up to number one. Memories of Murder is one of my favorite Korean films by far.

:lol really?

I loved the trailer, very inventive and didn't show much, like all trailers do nowadays.

didnt show me anything that made me want to see it either.. it was pretty annoying

after the shitfest that was their last "comedy" too Im apprehensive at best.

What's terrifying about the delay of Shutter Island is Paramount came right out and said they don't have the budget right now to give it the marketing push they want their Oscar contenders to have.

But if they're saying that in this current economic climate even Scorsese isn't considered a safe bet, then how much of a chance does anyone without a big name backing them possibly have?

Chris Nolan? I thought he was a director....

Yeah, I'm not what Solo is trying to say. Christopher Nolan had nothing to do with Shutter Island being pushed back. Martin Scorsese directed Shutter Island, and I'm sure he had little to do with the delay as well.

Part of the reason it was delayed is that Dicaprio is busy with Inception and is unable to go out promoting it.

Oh I thought it was strictly the Paramount marketing budget concerns. Fuck you Nolan then!
