Your Top 3 GamePass games of the year

Starfileld
Hi-Fi Rush
Quake 2

For continuously updated games I would give a strong shout out to Rare and Sea of Thieves for the Monkey Island update and The Guilds update. I'll also give a shout out to 343i for bringing Halo Infinite back from the brink and getting it to a sustainable state.

Ooh that's hard to narrow down!

Starfield
Atomic heart
Wo Long

Special mention to Forza Horizon 5 who I didn't pick up until this year. Once I'm done with that, I'm onto Forza Motorsports. No rush though as I want to wait until a couple of updates.

So much that came out this year I still need to get to. Need to stop playing Starfield!

Hi Fi Rush was a blast, loved this game so much
Sniper Elite V in coop was very fun
Forza Motorsport, playing in private with friends

Dead Space is on game pass?? Dang I gotta check that out!

Cocoon
Dead Space Remake
Planet of Lana

Also Starfield which I didn't finish yet, FM... I've been busy also on PS5 and Switch this year.

Doesn't Lies Of P take a while to beat?
Yes. It took me a week and a half of daily ~2 hour sessions. I did all the side content, but really it was the bosses that acted as gatekeepers. (I bought the game at release after the free demo so I did not play it on Gamepass.)

Flight Sim would be top of the list of constantly updated titles.

  • TMNT Shredder's Revenge - heaps cool with the family, old school arcade beat em up.
  • Hi-Fi Rush - more of these titles please.
  • Halo Infinite in NOV/DEC with Halo 3 playlist and firefight plus patches/changes. At the moment the game is running quite well with solid content and mostly local player population.
*Starfield missed the mark for me mostly. Good but not great.

Quake 2 (again local MP with my kids being able to play with them a game I played probably 1000's of hours on decades ago)

Just wanted to say that your kids are lucky to have someone introduce them to a game like Quake 2..

Long ago a family friend showed it to me and it was the reason I built my first PC and got into gaming!

Like a Dragon Gaiden
Planet of Lana
Bramble: The Mountain King

They've been killing it with AA/indie games this year.

Sea of Stars, which I now consider the second best Japanese style turn based RPG of all time right next to Chrono Trigger, a triumph of a game.

Starfield: I loved it but didn't "finish" it, though I intend to go back at some point.

Like a Dragon Kishin, though I have to admit that this game is simply not grabbing me like I thought it would. I was always kinda bummed that this one didn't come stateside for years, thinking we got screwed out of what looked to be a great game, and now I think it's easily the weakest game of the entire series, not counting Dead Souls of course.

Vampire Survivors, and it's even more legendary since the recent co-op patch.

It's simply not possible to list only 3 for 2023. It's been an insane year for Gamepass.

Some of my personal Favourites, in no particular order.

Hi Fi Rush
Lies Of P
Starfield
Forza
Atomic Heart
Jusant
Like a Dragon Gaiden
Dead Space remake
Cocoon
Wo Long

Just an insane year for GamePass - the best deal in gamingtm

I hope 2024 is on the same level!

I loved Marvel Guardian of Galaxies and High on Life and Requiem and HiFi-Rush bought MGG and A Plagues Tale for my Game Collection after 100%ing them

My most played for the year are probably:

Starfield
Madden 23
Hi-Fi Rush

So many solid games on there, with a bunch I haven't gotten to yet.

Starfield
Hi-Fi Rush
Lies of P or Jusant, not sure which.

But all in all, I think it was GP best year yet. Just insance amount of great games to play.

1) Cassette Beasts
2) Hi-Fi Rush
3) Bramble: The Mountain King

All 3 should be on my top 10 GOTY list barring any late play. If I am allowed to give an older title that I played this year on Game Pass, than Fuga 1 goes to no.1. Want to play the sequel soon.

I can't do just 3.

First half of the Year:

Hi-Fi Rush
TMNT - Shredder's Revenge
A Plague Tale - Requiem

Second Half:

Remnant II
Starfield
Forza Motorsports

I don't know if that's on console yet, so no.

Oh, it is indeed PC only... that's surprising since there aren't a lot of those on there but I guess a game like that could be a challenge on controller.

If that really is the issue, they should just say mouse/keyboard required on xbox and then at least you have the option to play it
