We Happy Few. Normally I'm down on this overly British, twee shit from developers outside the UK but the forked history horror setting makes it work. The piñata delivery was a little predictable and the Giant Bomb guys picked up on it but hopefully the rest of the game isn't like that.

Forza Horison 3. It's just a game I'll get to scratch that Burnout Paradise itch. I'll probably listen to podcasts while playing it, find my own fun and ignore big chunks of the game, put it away and never touch the Windows Store again. But that's more progress than Ubisoft has made with UPlay.

Sea of Thieves weirdly, too. I was a big fan of Salt on early access. It satisfied a hole I didn't know existed since I moved on from Minecraft. It's just nice to see Rare making games I care about.

I might have cared about Last Guardian if it was 2012. It's a wait for reviews thing now.

Top 3 for me

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wind
  • Dishonored 2
  • Watch Dogs 2

There are certainly other games that peaked my interest, which includes

  • Horizon: Zero Dawn
  • The Last Guardian
  • Pokemon Sun/Moon
  • Detroit
  • ABZU
  • Days Gone

1 - God of War
2 - Horizon
3 - Days Gone

Honourable mention to Spider-Man though, looks like it could be the best Spidey game in years.

Edit: What's happening with Deep Down? Did that get shown?

Zelda. Looks amazing!
Forza Horizon. One of the best trailers i have seen for a game. Looks great.
God of War. Honestly surprised by this after being jaded by the series.

Been a busy week for me so missed a fair bit of stuff. South park looked good too, missed all the indie stuff. Was any Below shown?

Also i think Call of duty: IW deserves a mention. The most surprising trailer of them all. Wait that's COD?

1 - zelda
2 - zelda
3 - zelda

Im sorry, but this zelda was exactly what i was expecting from videogames for years. The other games all looked bland next to it

I just wish nintendo had spend the last few years making more wiiu games about exploration like zelda and less wiiu games about replaying the same stage over and over for medals and stars like all the other wiiu games they made

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Perhaps cheating, as I don't think they showed it off very well. It's still my most anticipated game of the moment, and I'm just glad it exists in a localised form. The quality of the game itself is a known factor to me already, as the original game is great, and remake impressions from GAFers and close friends sound like they did it justice. Thank you, France, for badgering Square-Enix into localising this title.

NieR Automata
Sequel to a game I love, by a dev I respect the hell out of. The recent clip of a boss battle got me really excited. It looks very hectic, but in a way I find very easy to parse for some reason.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Looks a lot further along than I thought, and it looks fantastic. Definitely living up to my expectations so far. It gives off a strong Order Of Ecclesia vibe, which is more than fine by me.

Honourable Mentions go to Zelda Breath of the Wild, and We Happy Few. Bonus dishonourable mention goes to Dishonoured 2. It felt wrong to put it on my honourable mentions list, given its name.

To be quite honest, although this was overall a rather middling E3, there were a number of games coming out this year or later that looked quite interesting. I'd like to acknowledge them all, so I'll probably just go for honourable mentions. If there's one thing I'd lament in general, it's that for some titles, not enough was shown to provide a good sense of what the final product is like.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - It being a Zelda game would usually be enough to draw my attention, but based on the demo footage, I'm now really looking forward to playing it next year. Also, I'm just glad they finally let the cat out of the bag on that thing.

2. Mafia 3 - Although it wasn't at any of the major events, the media and interviews that have come out over the past week or so make me quite optimistic for this game. I love the original Mafia, and the sequel was also quite enjoyable (albeit somewhat flawed). Even if this just turns out to be your run-of-the-mill open world TPS, the general style, aesthetic and atmosphere are enough to keep me invested.

3. South Park: The Fractured but Whole - I know the South Park writing / jokes can be quite hit-or-miss for many people, but I appreciate the general tone and absurdity of it all. More importantly, I really liked The Stick of Truth, and I'd be perfectly fine just getting more of that. Bonus points for the twist reveal.

Other than these, I'd like to give a shout out to

x. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - I was fully prepared not to buy this one, but after the demo during the Sony conference, I'm thinking I misjudged it (although, to be fair, the initial trailer did a pretty bad job making it look interesting).

x. Dishonored 2 - I like the general concept of Dishonored, but was never really able to get into the first game. With some time to spare this summer, I'll hopefully manage to catch up, so I can jump into the follow-up.

x. Much of the Sony offering that still feels a little vague to me - God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human. All of these look or sound very promising, but I feel like I need to see more of them before being able to form a proper impression.

1. Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So much to do, and it all looks extremely fun.
2. Sea of Thieves. Looked like a well-integrated and flowing pirate sim.
3. Horizon: Zero Dawn. Unique world.

Honorable mention:
Gwent.

1. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild -- Zelda is always a series I've had a big affinity for, but coming off of Skyward Sword (which I felt was the weakest one yet) makes this look so fresh. I was instantly enamored. The bits and pieces of world/physic interaction we've seen from streams and the smart landmarking of interest points makes the possibilities within the game feel endless and the crave for exploration come immediately. Game looks like a true labor of love that instantly shot to the top of my most anticipated list.

2. NieR Automata -- This was the most surprising announcement for me at last E3, a followup to a game I really liked (many times in spite of itself) that I never would have imagined getting further support. Throwing on platinum for the gameplay portion and seeing it in action more makes most of my fears go away. At its best, this could be a truly insane game if the story, soundtrack, and combat blend together as well as I imagine it in my head, and I'm really liking what I've seen so far.

3. Titanfall 2 -- The original Titanfall had its grip on my longer than most MP games tend to, so the followup is naturally a game that has my attention already. I'm down for a SP component in any game that actually takes advantage of fluid movement mechanics, and the additional wrinkles to the MP are looking to suck me back into the vortex. Beta soon pls.

1. Days Gone - I liked Sons of Anarchy, biker culture is kind of interesting. I liked the bleak mood of The Last of Us & The Road. I like motorcycles, and the idea of riding one across a super detailed post-apocalyptic PNW. I liked Bend's work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss. I am so ready for a mashup of all of that.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Wii U's swan song is going to be beautiful, we've all seen the gifs. This was one of the games I bought the system for...they kept us waiting, but it looks like it will be worth the effort. I know what I'm doing next spring.

3. Horizon: Zero Dawn - amazing world and creative ideas that I hope come together for Guerilla. Definitely left a lasting impression.

Honourable mention:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - this was one of the games I bought my PS4 for. But I'd already seen all I needed to, so this doesn't feel like an "E3 2016" thing to me.

Detroit: Becoming Human - This could be very cool, I didn't know this game existed going into Sony's conference. I liked the mannequin-like movements of the protagonist, should be interesting.

Overall, one of the most impressive E3s I can remember even though Nintendo only brought one game anybody cared about and MS laid an egg.

1. Yooka-Laylee; also my most wanted. The trailer looked fantastic and it seems to be just the right team to deliver a 2017-Banjo-sans-license.
2. Zelda BotW; Not entirely happy about the direction this is taking, especially since I hate forging and losing my weapons due to wear, also worried about the pockets of emptiness. It looks incredible though and if the 100 mini-dungeons are well designed sporting fun puzzles it could very well be an amazing game for me.
3. Sonic Boom Fire & Ice; Yeah, well the E3 was shit for me, but since the last Sonic Boom on 3DS was fun, I am looking forward to this. I also liked the trailer.

the ones i look forward to the most.

Final Fantasy XV
Persona 5
Mafia III

others i'm interested in

South Park: The Fractured But Whole
God of War
Detroit: Become Human
Gears of War 4
Nioh

1) NieR Automata
2) Wild Guns Reloaded
3) Spider-Man PS4

Honorable mention: Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

I disqualify Tekken 7 because I play that in the arcade already and will be playing Fated Retribution in a few of weeks.

I think there will be an official NeoGAF voting thread at some point.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
3. The Last Guardian

1. Horizon
2. Detroit
3. Andromeda, although I was kinda underwhelmed by the actual preview/trailer since I thought they'd be showing more. I'm just super pumped for more ME.

Honorable Mention: Death Stranding. Not really enough info yet to judge but my interest is piqued

I did my list based on games where we actually have real gameplay and a release date (because so much can change when a game is years out).

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn
2. Forza Horizon 3
3. Titanfall 2

Honourable mention to Spider-Man but still too much unknown about the game.

1. Resident Evil 7: Big changes to the formular, a trailer and a playable teaser demo which were phenomenal.
2. Spider-Man: Insomniac behind a game of one of my favorite superheroes? Nuff said.
3. South Park: The Fractured But Whole: I didn't expect this to grab me at all, but with all those superhero references I'll surely be there at release.

I'm actually planning a NeoGAF Best of E3 voting. Should go up soon.

The guy that usually does that is banned right now.

Plenty of interesting good games but I'm not sure there was anything truly exceptional. Few of the games might end up being way better than I could have ever imagined but as of now, no game looks like it's going to be truly mind blowing.

1. Dishonored 2 - Looks like it's going to be the original + something added on top of it. Should be a good one but... I'll get back to that later.
2. Titanfall 2 - Titanfall was fun but it was fun for about 10 hours like almost every shooter in the past 3-4 years. Even Overwatch ran out of juice at the 10 hour mark like every MP shooter in recent years (Garden Warfare 2, Black Ops 3, Advanced Warfare, BF Hardline, Evolve, Battleborn etc.) For whatever reason Battlefield 4 is the only one to avoid that fate. Maybe Titanfall 2 can be that game? Not too hopeful about that to be honest. BF1 should have been the obvious choice but they didn't make a WW1 game, they made another Battlefield open arena shooter game. Very disappointing but I'll buy it anyway.
3. Forza Horizon 3 - As much as it pains to say this, FH3 was impressive. Finally coming to PC but in a completely crippled form thanks to Windows Store/UWP. Maybe the game actually starts though? Can't say that about Forza Apex. They've had good couple of months to patch it and it still crashes on startup.

A lot of good sequels coming like those I mentioned and Deus Ex, Mafia 3 and so on but very few of them are bringing anything new to the table. That's why E3 has been slightly disappointing, it's just more of the same. Zelda was probably the most disappointing, it looks like a very average open world game with Zelda branding. Shallow is a word I might use. Horizon looks like another open world game with few neat ideas that end up changing nothing in the big picture. Infinite Warfare actually looked like it could be interesting but I have a feeling they showed just about everything new they have brought to the table, rest of the game is just another Call of Duty shooter campaign. I also have a bad feeling about Civ 6 but I remain hopeful.

1. Zelda
This is the way I wanted Zelda to go. It's damn near perfect, from art style, to music, to atmosphere. The only let down was lack of a female option, but one they can hopefully remedy with a future installment. Was seriously blown away during the game play. It's basically Immersiveness: The Game.

2. Pokemon Sun and Moon
My most hyped game. Everything the showed looked great. I'm liking Pikipek's and Grubbin's design, hell, I'm liking all Alola's designs so far, and the new battle interface looked brill. However, nothing too groundbreaking was revealed, which is why Zelda took No. 1.

3. The Last Guardian
I don't have a PS4 yet, but ICO and SotC rank among my all time favourite games, and TLG looks like another worthy contender with its simplistic, yet high quality game design and unique atmosphere. Not having a PS4 is killing my hype for it a bit though, thats why it ranks No. 3.

My top 3 are NieR Automata, Nioh, and Deus Ex. All games I was excited to play beforehand, but only made me more excited seeing them at E3. Phantom Dust was the most shocking reveal to me and the only reason its not top 3 to me is because it seems to be suffering from various port limitations. I couldn't imagine Resident Evil 7 and Scalebound not being on this list before the show, but here we are. Overall, there were a lot of cool games.

1. NieR Automata
Everyone needs to see this video. This game shot to the top of my list after watching it! Day 1!!

2. Spider-man
A Spider-man game that is made by Insomniac...not a cash-grab tie in. And it's already looking GREATTTTT. Can't wait! Day 1!!

3. Horizon: Zero Dawn
An amazing game we've seen before, but now with expanded preview. I like what I saw and definitely getting this day 1.

No particular order :

-God of War

-Forza Horizon 3

-Horizon Zero Dawn

Narrowing it down to just 3 is pretty difficult. Honourable mentions, South Park, Last Guardian, Watchdogs 2, Dishonored 2 and Days Gone

Edit: Also forgot about Mafia 3 and We Happy Few. Really awesome E3 for me, so many games right down my alley
