I think Tony Scott would have been a better choice. Michael Bay would have been the ultimate choice over all with his sense of glorious celebratory americana.

My concern with Synder is just the colour palette of the film.

Given that you all think Nolan has the magical power to reel Snyder's horrible style in, then you could also say the same for Scott's style as well. And well, it would also get Nolan closer to his papa Ridley.
 
looking back at that thread, the funny thing is so many people bashing the Ledger choice and calling for Depp, when Depp and Ledger are actually very similar actors. We should have seen it coming.

my ass Snyder had some emotional attachment to this character. This is just him covering his ass because Sucker Punch will flop hard (after battle owls and watchmen).
 
I'm probably the only one who really liked the designs they had for the Tim Burton one. Though the story ideas were retarded such as having a 'gay robot sidekick' for the villain, the look from the concept art was incredible. Oh man :/

Anyways if this flops Superman is dead for at least 20 years.

yeah, they should. it's a superman movie. people don't seem to have a problem with batman having worn underwear outside his pants for 70 years too, why is it a problem with superman? you want to see a good movie or bitch?

Oh right I forgot about that. This is sad lol. You can tell neither Nolan OR WB give a shit about Superman since they're just handing it off to Snyder. And don't give me this confidence in Sucker Punch shit, his films have been bombing recently.

Superman's just a character they need to quickly throw some project onto since they don't really want to lose him hahaha. Oh well...one day somebody will care.
 
I haven't liked a single Superman film, so i can't really get worked up about this news. Honestly, they could do MUCH worse than Snyder. A lot of the hate for him is overblown.

where do I begin? how about these people have pride in what they do? how about WB likes money and would like to make some? how about the fact that the just set up DC west coast to handle games, movies and other shit? they don't give a shit??? are you sure that's what you meant to type?

Yeah, the internet is a bastion for people like me. It brings this out of us pretty easily. But yeah I'm definitely pretty positive this will suck. I've jumped to conclusions from past-experience of watching Snyder's crap.
 
Superman is a terrible soulless character defined by those around him. It needs to be non-stop visual spectacle. If the last movie had just been the kind of "what if" scenarios, like the chain-gun bullets hitting his eyeball, for TWO HOURS, it would have been AWESOME.


Snyder should just do two hours of that shit, with no Kryptonite in sight, and at the end Superman punches Bin Laden into the sun and high-fives Batman.

Bah, I know this is obviously impossible but imagine what the Coen Brothers could have done with this setting it in the 50s. Sort of Hudsucker Proxy-like. Or Burton, yes I said Burton, would have been interesting too. Given the reign from Nolan script-wise.

Batman has no outisde underpants in Begins or TDK. I'm just saying that the character could use a redesign for a movie adaptation. Keeping red underpants isn't going to make it a good movie btw.
 
It should be interesting. Out of all the final choices they had, Snyder is the best.

And really he can't do worse than all the previous Sup's movies.

Im convinced there is no way to make Superman look cool. On Smallville they are now having him sport jeans and a red leather jacket :lol

You either have never seen Superman or Superman II, or have bad taste. The original is the model by which other superhero movies are judged.

Snyder's movies are hardly bombs- dissappointments maybe, but not bombs. Watchmen did fine for a niche Rated R comic that made little sense to the public (or a lot comic book readers) & WB probably breathed a sigh of relief for ever getting involved in it.

The owl movie is humming along and will probably clear budget in theaters worldwide not including DVD release in time for Xmas.

However, Snyder does what most do. They secure their next gig.

WB will have their way with him and he wil do as told (just like Nolan to an extent). This movie isn't going to win Oscars, but it will be just as everyone wants it. I imagine it will be similar to Watchmen in the action which had a combination of fast and slow parts throughout.
 
Yeah I don't see them changing the costume. People are just going to have to live with the fact that he wears his underwear wrong.

Pretty much. The FX is obviously dated, but they are still good movies.
