You know you are telling all the contrary things the thta game has?

The level design is the worst of the 3D games, the world setting becomes boring after 2 hours, the difficulty is a piece of shit, because theres no difficulty (apart from the onlñy good thing about the game, the secret levels). Most of it comes because of the horrendous camera and bugs that the game is plagued with. Its like they called the fucking Sonic Team to finish the game.

The bosses are repetitive and the final stage and boss are the worst of all the Marios.
And the plot is a piece of shit, they use Bowser Jr to get rid of the awesome koopalings and the characters fucking talk.

Theres opinions about liking more the game or the setting, but then there are facts like the fucking bugs, awful camera, voicework and repetiveness. Thats something a Mario game NEVER needs to have, so the game is automatically bad.

I can't agree with you on any of these!

The camera is brilliant once you realise that it is an evolved version of the Super Mario 64 camera. In other words, you are meant to have your thumb on the C-stick at all times as the camera is wholly integrated into the gameplay. Anyone who had played SM64 beforehand would have known that.

I did not encounter a single bug and collected 70 to 80 Shines before I had to quit due to work. (I was putting in too many all night marathons on the game.)

And the mentioning of repetitiveness is just "wow..." In my opinion, the LACK of repetitiveness is exactly one of the things that made the game as great as it is.

Man, this feels like I slipped into some kind of BIZARRO world...

I had played the original Mario Land back in the day but I hadn't owned it until the 3DS shop rolled around. I was very disappointed. The controls are not to my liking and I found the level design to be loose and sometimes aimless.

How do the controls in ML2 compare to ML1? To what game in the series are the controls in 2 most similar?

Super Mario World, probably. Mario feels a bit slippery once he's built up speed but it's not too bad, and he has the spin jump.

Super Mario Land 2 is so great. Can't wait to play it again.

Also, this means we're already another step closer to Mario Land 3, so that's good news too.

I'm still waiting for a Nintendo developed Wario Land 5 and I have a feeling I'll be waiting a long time yet :(
Pretend Wario Land Shake It has a 5 in the title. It might as well.

I'm waiting for Wario Land 6.

strange that you think the enemies are unidentifiable. i did my recent playthroughs on the 3DS, running the game at native resolution with gameboy tinting. no problems whatsoever. i will say the enemies remind me of metroid nes' enemies in that you can clearly discern their shape and move patterns, but they're still so bizarre and alien-like.

I wrote that before a replay on 3DS and I will say that the enemies are significantly more discernable in black/white with no ghosting than in green/green with ghosting. Otherwise, i think we just value different things in a Mario game I guess.

Mario Land 2 is kind of unique in the fact it has an optional easy mode. Just press select on the file select screen. Hopefully you lot don't require this.

Gotta agree with ya, buddy. Super Mario Sunshine is fantastic. I honestly don't recall any bugs either, especially not any on the level of the Sonic Adventure games and such, as someone above mentioned.

How many total Shines were there? I know I never quite finished it either. Then again, I tend to not finish most of my games. I've been better about that lately, though.

How dare people say Super Mario Sunshine is anything near bad. It's a 3D Mario platformer and an original one at that. The music, level design, gameplay, whatever, godlike.

Anyways, giving away Four Swords is pretty awesome.

I think I remember there being 120. I never got them all because of the stupid Blue Coin shine sprites. You get a Shine every 10 coins I think, but I didn't keep track of which ones I had collected, so I would have ended up spending hours looking through each level for them all.

That was the only thing I didn't like about Sunshine.

Oh man, I loved SML2. I lost the cartridge years ago when I was still fairly young and I am still kind of pissed off when I think about it.

120 like in 64 and Galaxy, but way too many of them were in exchange for blue coins. Which wouldn't have been that big a deal if the game helped you keep track of them or marked levels where they were still hiding or something. Still a top-notch platformer, even if Serena Beach was camera hell.

edit: so beaten

Keep fighting the good fight man, but you are not winning it.

The game was bad and Nintendo knows it thank god.

Ah yes, I remember those damn blue coins now. :)

This is what your argument has devolved to. You seem to be trying to make other people not enjoy games they enjoy (?) by saying it's bad omg and Nintendo knows and everyone else etc. Not very nice.

The fact that Sunshine didn't keep track of the blue coins was pretty bad. I like everything else about the game, though.

I don't know...it felt a lot different than the "Land" titles.

At least it was a good game though, which is more than I can say for that Master of Disguise crap Nintendo tried to pass off as a quality Wario platformer :(

Four Swords. I've only experienced the damn intro. Quite frankly I'm amazed Nintendo didn't just bundle this game with skyward sword, they are so generous these days!

Dat boxart

I am still mad as hell that all my OG Gameboy boxes got ruined once I let my brother get a hold of them, this and a choice few others would have made for a nice little "Wall of Games" in room museum nowadays. :(

:lol, oh man. Going to 4 Swords from the lttp menu and just watching the intro a bunch of times hoping someday you'll get a chance to actually play the game. Those were some good times.

They're infinitely superior. ML1 -> ML2 is pretty much the most improved sequel of all time. The handling feels similar to SMB3.

The Mario Land games were all about tweaking and experimenting with the "golden formula" of the 2D games. While SMB1 -> 3 -> World heaped loads of new content on and around the original's physics model and themes, the Land games tried radically different physics and completely off-the-wall enemy and world designs. If anything, it should be called "Mario Gaiden"...inspired by Mario, but fundamentally different.

SML2 handles completely differently from 1, but it does carry that same experimental spirit. Eventually Nintendo just figured that they should go whole hog on the series' weirdness and cast Wario as the lead. That really opened them up to a bunch of crazy stuff that they couldn't have done with Mario.

Was reading this: http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Sword

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
The Master Sword appears as a secret weapon in the Nintendo 3DS version. It is obtained after completing the Realm of Memories, a bonus area added to the 3DS Version that takes on aspects of previous Zelda games.

Probably nothing, but could be something.

The two bonuses—Master Sword, and Hurricane Spin—in Four Swords Anniversary's extra levels are almost certainly the same bonuses you used to get playing LTTP alongside the original game, with each game unlocking something in the other. I had both, they were fun :D The latter in particular was great for cutting down fields of grass or bushes.

SML2 is a fine fine game. A bit short, but good fun. And it has a shark with boxing gloves, A SHARK WITH MOTHER FUCKING BOXING GLOVES!!!

Let that sink in for a second, and then you'll realise that you need this game!
I swear that entire game is just a collection of ideas that didn't make it into SMB3 or SMW.

SML2 is good, but SML3: Wario Land is one of the best games EVER.
MOTHERFUCKING THIS.

After playing that, I was super excited for the release of Wario Land 3.

I WAS NOT LET DOWN.

Fucking one of, if not THE best gameboy color games.

I'm not too in to the Wario Land games. I feel like they're too much exploration, not enough action, when compared to the Mario Land games.

Oh... and Four Swords! I'll be downloading the game on two different DSis and my 3DS, so I can finally play it with friends! Been looking forward to that for months. I need to decide whether to play it by myself or wait for friends first.
