I thought the vines were a metaphor for it being delayed/taking lnoger than expected.

The trailer kind of sucked, but I'm pretty sure the game will be awesome, console Zeldas never let me down.

The font used in the logo is still disgraceful.

I feel like visuals aren't that great. It feels like they tried to imitate the transition from Majora's Mask to Wind Waker and failed...

the main problem with the trailer was that it was mostly gameplay. TP had story trailers with cinematic cuts. that stuff gets people hyped not random gameplay

All of the motion plus gameplay that has been shown is too simplistic for me to have any interest... I hope it picks up in complexity/difficulty but I'm doubtful.

Zeldas were never complex. TP tried it with new special moves, but there was little use for them. this looks about the same in complexity but with a wider range of slashes

WOW.

The graphics appear to have improved substantially. Hype through the roof!

I like the new look.

I'm not going to judge this game until I hear game-play impressions. Gameplay is what makes my like my zelda games. That and its unconventional story telling and unique world.
Other than majoras mask which other Zelda do you like that fits this criteria?

I find that statement so sad, but so true.

I liked the focus on combat, it doesn't make for the most eventful trailer, but at the end of the day, rather know how the game plays than some random cut scenes/cinematics.

I'm hyped. Wasn't a great trailer (relative to Twilight Princess'), but nice to see something new.

Wouldn't be surprised if that new character (who does remind me of Vaati), is based on the Gilded Sword from Majora's Mask. Swords seem to be pretty important and symbolic in this game. Maybe the first boss will be based on the Kokiri Sword? lol

Trailer did nothing for me, but I'm still interested in the game (it's a Zelda game!). I don't like the "Skyward Sword" font in the logo, but it's just that: a font type.

Boss fight shown looked like it had the same familiarity as the countless Zelda bosses before it. Hopefully we'll get some new challenges this time.

I don't understand the posters getting upset at people that don't think it is a graphical improvement from TP.

If there is one it can't be noticed through videos at this time.

That being said, the game still looks like Zelda fun. The UI needs to go, however.

my only complain with recent Zeldas is the difficulty of the boss battles, I remember when a boss hitting you actually caused some damage.

You must've really hated all the previous Zelda's then...because none of them have been any more complex

The game looks exciting but it seems like it resembles Spirit Tracks with the character designs, at least with that creepy grey dude. I hope the colors don't look as washed out as they do in the video.

I like the aesthetics of Skyward Sword, it's like a median between Twilight Princess's naturalism and Wind Waker's stylisation.

And I don't think the trailer was bad at all, it purely demonstrated the wii motion plus mechanics and the different ways they've been implemented in SS, better than the disastrous E3 reveal from last year.

Is the new character a guy or a girl? I think I see boobs in the full body shot but I'm still a little confused. Looks like it will probably be the same race as sword girl.

Impressed at the amount of enemies shown and they look exciting. The grassy/temple area looks kind of washed out but the volcano/desert area looks vibrant and nice. I hope the E3 trailer is better. I get they're trying to showoff M+ but watching half a trailer of Link hitting things with his sword isn't very exciting. I'm hoping they're just showing these trailers to not overhype us and show off all the new exciting things before the game comes out like they did for WW and TP.

It's weird that story trailers get people more hyped, despite Zelda stories being of no significance. It's like that awesome piece of art posted before. Makes you think that Zelda is all about some grand story filled with lots of colorful characters until you remember that Zelda isn't anything like that at all. Just a dungeon game.

What the fuck some of you guys are on?
"Video quality"? You're watching a low quality youtube video, of curse the video quality will be bad. The pastel color pallet is perfect, and the game look beautiful.
I can get complaints about the gameplay (though I think the new controls can make for some very interesting stuff), but I don't get people hating on the graphics at all.

The enemy and design ans scenery also looks awesome.

The colors are still really dull, like TP. I'm not trying to troll, or even hint that WW was a better game, but I prefer a more colorful Zelda like WW or LttP.

ironically my favorite Zelda is still Link's Awakening on GB

I can't wait for the next generation Zelda, which will hopefully use modern tech to build it's world.

My Skyward Sword Mini Review:

- Music is repetitive, there's only one track in the entire game....lame

- Gameplay wise, seems like it will be mostly sword fighting except for like two rotating key puzzles.

-There will only be about 3 common enemies spread throughout the entire game, and only three bosses.

-Graphics are terrible, looks like it came from an outside recording source but everyone in this thread has obviously stated that it came directly from the source.

- We'l probably only see 5 or so different looking areas in the game as companies always show everything off beforehand.

-I can tell just from looking at the game how good the controls will be and let me tell you, they are awful.

- Judging from the length of the trailer, this game will be about an hour long.

I think it's looking better each time it gets shown off. Still, I wasn't a fan of the motion controls in Twilight Princess and I sorta wish they didn't make it such a big focus here either. Looks like I'll finally have to get that damn motionplus controller.

Perhaps by complexity I really mean predictability. Then again, I was much younger when I played the Zelda's that I've enjoyed the most.

So is anyone going to release HQ shots?

Anyone?

They only put up the logo in the exact resolution I posted, OoT 3D's logo, and some new screens of OoT 3D. Also, there's a report now that OoT 3D is coming out in June.

Same race, but perhaps different allegiance. notice the new character seems to awaken the golden giant enemy and then vanishes. perhaps this dude/chick is evil.

Jesus christ, what a shitty trailer. This is not the way to hype up a game.

This is the way to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RieKG7pw6g8

Hell yeah, after this trailer i was hyped as hell. The new SS trailer looks kind of "rushed" and boring.

Never forget one of the best moments in gaming history. The crowd man, the fucking crowd !!

Pretty much every Zelda game since 1998 has done a lot with story and characters.
