New bail-out gif.
So I guess he's a magician of sorts that makes the golden armed statue come to life?
If he didn't have hair, he could be a zora!

Yes the video quality is bad, you have seen the proper screens the game is colorful. The gameplay looks incredible, lots of new ideas in there and the aspect that needed the most work, the combat is overhauled. We have seen nothing about the structure of the game so I don't understand anyone talking about it now.

Its Zelda, there is nothing to worry about.

New character = Dark Inteloper.

Time for timeline debate

I see my influence is felt far and wide. Also I will puke if that new character is a dark interloper. Not my conception of the group Nintendo. Actually that dude looks like he could be right out of Ninja Goemon 64.

The areas look a lot more distinct from each other this time... almost like they're different countries with different cultures?

Might make sense since it would seem that you fly around for the overworld...

Oh, TLG certainly looks beautiful. But if Shadow of the Colossus is any indication, it will play like ass.

With Zelda, we can at least be relatively sure that the controls will be solid.

Super awesome then?

couldn't have said it better. i went into Colossus thinking i was going to LOVE it but the controls were abysmal, the camera was not great, and the framerate dropped to about 3FPS at times. i guess i was spoiled all those years of Nintendo being able to create great controls for a character in a 3D space because Colossus did not have that. it had some great ideas, no doubt, but that game is infinitely better if they would have whoever designed Link's controls working for them.

New guy doesnt look evil/crazy enough to be an actual bad guy. Probably just some mischevious henchman.

I hope he is the main baddie. he looks like a smug motherfucker because he is so powerful. I prefer whimsical bad guys anyway

I'm posting this screen and trying to pass the doubts I have/had about the overworld. Not sure exactly how much of the actual game we are going to get is going to resemble this image, but you can see distinct different areas in the shot. I could see the desert area having a seemless dungeon, aswell as the mountains in the back.

Pretty happy looking tree.

The game looks amazing. Awaiting direct feed, I'm sure the colors will be more vibrant.

Oh please...

Are we really comparing Ueda's emotional games with shit framerate and wonky/simple/repetitive design and gameplay to Zelda?

I LOVE SoTC and TLG is a day 1 buy, but when i want to play games for what they actually have to offer over other mediums, i wont pick fucking ICO.

Plus, putting Miller's Crossing theme on a trailer with a cute kitteh beast with puppy eyes means shit to me if we're talking about gameplay mechanics, etc. Nintendo on the other hand releases a gameplay trailer and leaves the story and characters under wraps and what happens, people cry. The fuck?

No I wasn’t joking. The game looks uninspired and boring.

The E3 trailer better blow me away or I’ll be skipping this.

So if the game OMFGALLOVERMYTITS amazing come launch time, but the E3 trailer sucks, you won't get it?

Some posters in here are PRICELESS.

I give this meltdown a 4/10.

Guess I'm one of the few people who liked the trailer. It looked really fun and I love the art-style for this game. The bright colors are definitely where I want Zelda to be most of the time. As much as I liked TP's designs, I remember a lot of dark tones to it (mostly brown) and that's not as attractive to me as the vibrant colors in SS.

Only the sane people liked it.

I'm with you. Just watched it and I really like what I'm seeing. ^_^

Yeah, yours was way better and sadder.

Tricky I Shadow said:
Umm, no?

The only thing I see that’s priceless is your post.

Your words about skipping a game over a fucking trailer. Not mine. I'm sane enough to give Zelda the benefit of the doubt and not lose my shit over a washed out, non-direct feed gameplay montage.

Cool, the gameplay is looking varied and pretty solid. Love the four-armed guy with four swords that Link was fighting.

Looking forward to more info at E3 :)

Y'know, the guy's not even worth a response. There are better ways to spend your time than responding to Zelda fanwank.

My only complaint is the animation as I expected them to reanimate Link's movement from E3. Ocarina of Time 3D Link's animation is way better than Skyward sword.

So that is how next generation of action adventure titles look like? Combat system especially looks insane, art direction is brilliant. Can't freaking wait.
P.S.: Comparisons to Last Guardian are laughable, especially after hearing that the game will be more similar to Ico than SOTC, which almost guarantees a "flat" level and puzzle design, on top of horrible controls and camera. Things that, you know, are guaranteed to be awesome in SS.

i actually think one of my biggest peeves is that there's no better solution yet for the big arrow that points at an enemy you're targeting. i kind of feel like link's body language should imply this stuff by now, or that it should be more integrated. it feels layered on top of the world and it breaks the illusion that you're in the world.

Bitch please. You're gonna get Ganon and you're gonna like it.
sigh :(

Enemies you're targeting should glow.

Zelda has the worst fans of any series possibly.

The new Mario and remake of Ocarina look "uninspired"(in quotes because I think they both look good all the same) and a Zelda with a really unique use of colors and style and one with interesting characters and gameplay is written off already.

Will I like the new Zelda as much as the new Mario????

Probably, probably even more but both should be excellent when the full games are released.

I actually wasn't hyped at all with the first Skyward Sword trailer but this trailer makes me interested a lot, especially because of the character of the characters and the gameplay.
