Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward ("Good People Die") - US 3DS/Vita release, fall

With the Vita release, it pretty much confirms that this game won't
use the same clever mechanic "flip the DS upside down"
on the last game. That moment was incredibly, incredibly awesome.

Ah well.

I've been hovering on choosing between PAL or NA version of 3DS, but this seals the deal, I think. This is available in NA 3DS right...?

Would you really like them to do the same exact thing a second time? I think that would be kind of lame, to be honest.

I'm still holding out for the 3DS and Vita versions to (999 end spoilers)
each have a test group in a different location. So like how they were in the desert at the end, it'd be like that in this one, except one is the desert and the other the ship.

Some random Japan news for everyone, according to Uchikoshi's Twitter account it seems that the soundtrack will be released on 4/19 in Japan :)

And of course, the 999/VLR combination 128 pg art book comes out in Japan in two days on 3/3! Can't wait!

Oh god this week has proven that dreams do come true. I'll be stalking your twitter non stop in the next few weeks. You guys should get in touch with chunsoft or whoever is publishing the book and tell them to contact Udon. This artbook needs to come out over here and Udon would be the prefect team for the job.

Feel free to stalk away :)

And that would be pretty cool if that even happened haha

I'd buy an English version, even after importing the J version ;)

This game looks interesting....... very interesting.....

Looks like i'll be buying 999 this weekend.

Damn you Aksys!!

You have chosen...wisely ;)

We hope you enjoy it! :D

Also, someone on Gamefaqs has finished the Japanese version and posted some brief spoilerless impressions of what they thought, if anyone wants to take a peek:

Click/read at your own risk. The first post has no spoilers (well, maybe a slight spoiler about the kind of ending, if that bothers anyone, but nothing story related), but I can't guarantee other users won't pop in and mention some >.<

Any plans on translating the 3DS demo and releasing it on the eShop?

Also Release Date Shipping via Amazon, PRETTY PLEASE!?

So, I know the Vita version will be higher res and look nicer on the OLED screen, but what does the 3DS do with the touch screen? If the game is played on the top screen, and the bottom is blank or just filler, then I'll be getting this for Vita if the system goes on sale between now and then.

Sorry if this was mentioned earlier; I don't want to poke around too much and possibly run into spoilers.

Btw, loved 999. Even bought a watch from the Aksys store! =)

Both the 3DS and Vita versions make use of their touch screens.

However, the 3DS uses it's entire bottom screen for the touchable stuff, whereas the VITA version consolidates it on its OLED screen.

Also, great move on picking up the watch :D! It's pretty cool and hefty!

This game does a spectacular job of making you feel like a dick.
Even when you choose cooperate, someone gets their feelings or trust hurt
-_-

No comment and I think that might depend on Amazon :)
So Amazon has control as to whether they have a release date option? I thought that was a publisher thing?

The "no comment" part could mean something good...Gonna be checkin' that eShop everyday.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get this when it comes out. I rather liked the first game, but I don't think I can support what Kinu Nishimura did to Clover. :| Not to mention
Alice's awful design.
Also the switch to 3D models is a big turn off.

It's still nice to have stuff released properly in your region though, rather than needing to import or anything.

that's true but ultimately what really matters is that you get to play the actual game, and then, region free is a godsend... I have SO many US titles in my collection it's not funny ;)

Wooo, can't wait for the game. Any chance of you guys also doing that other Vita adventure game from Chunsoft, "Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru: 11 Hitome no Suspect"?

Across the Vita and 3DS it sold about par for the course from what I gather. It's already a niche game to begin with, even here in J-land.

If you meant how did 999 do in America, surprisingly well from what I gather.
If it didn't they wouldn't have bothered localizing the sequel.
