Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward ("Good People Die") - US 3DS/Vita release, fall

Have you guys seen this fandub of the original? A lot of parts have been uploaded and a lot of effort has gone into them. Check it out!

Speaking of dubs, to all the people that completed VLR – how much voice acting is actually in the game? I'm hoping that a lot of it is....

Is Sigma voice acted? Is the narration voice acted? I’m assuming it’s only the conversations minus Sigma? If so, is it all conversations?

Someone who's actually played can correct me, but I believe Sigma and the narration are silent, conversations during puzzle sections are silent, and conversations during novel sections are voiced.

That’s what I thought, which is fine by me. The more voice acting the better! ^_^

Wow, fan dub sounds pretty great. Snake and Ace especially. Clover's not bad either.

Not too keen on Junpei's though, sounds too high pitched.

That's pretty cool. I may have to watch this, I've been meaning to replay the game in anticipation of VLR, but this should do nicely as well.

But I also found this one to be a pretty funny parody of the original. Especially Snake & Seven.

Man, now I'll have to save up for October since I'll be getting RE6 and this. :/

You're hurting me, Aksel. In my heart.

Aww, Clover just wants to spread the Zero Escape love :)

The VLR Clover gif is fan made, but looks pretty good!

Maybe I should tone down my hype for this game. At this rate by October anything other than Sigma donning rocket boots and blasting off into the stratosphere with Phi will be a disappointment.

Nah.

I think June is pleased with such a proposition~

I'm on the fence as to whether to get a vita or import a 3ds from the U.S for this (I'm in Australia). Is there any disadvantage in me importing a 3ds? I'm assuming I'll need to use a power adaptor. Anything else I should know?

If you own a DSi or DSi XL you can use the cable from that device. You might get problems with the eShop. The US one doesn't take my credit card, but if you set it to Canada you should be fine. Plus you can't use some applications like Nintendo Video, since it's region restricted by IP.

Pretty disgusting decision by nintendo to region lock. It's very likely this game will not be released in PAL territories and they have taken away the option for the consumer to import it. I don't understand how restricting the number of titles the consumer has access to is meant to be a good thing. I guess price gouging is a bigger priority.

DS is region free :) 999 is just too great a game to miss if you are into story drives games, it's like being interested in Japanese movies and not having watched a Kurosawa movie.

Will think about it. However, back to the original question; Is this a direct follow-up to the 999 game or can I play it without any prior knowledge?

references only; but I haven't played the game to know how much, but still 999 is not required (I guess it'll be like watching supernatural without understanding any of the cross references)

You can theoretically play it without playing 999, but it will greatly enhance the overall experience if you do get to play 999 first.

If you plan on playing 999 though, you should definitely play it first before playing VLR.

Otherwise it'll spoil the 999 experience for you

Is there any reason to get this on the 3DS instead of the Vita aside from having both games on the same system? Like maybe some puzzles that are easier to handle using a stylus and having a bottom screen?

For those of you attending Anime Expo this weekend, we'll be having our panel at 9 am on Saturday in room LP3 :)

We'll be talking a lot about VLR and Zero Escape, among other things, and giving away stuff as well.

Perhaps one such item will be this hard to see instagram picture of red VLR water bottles ;D

They were quite the hot item today. Ran out of today's batch in like 2 hours haha

Though the bigger question is, I wonder what kind of info and surprises we'll be divulging tomorrow morning ;)

Stay tuned! :D

Think I see a candidate for a pre-ordered item :D

Release date? Trailer? Maybe a voice actor or two? Would be extremely happy for anything At this point.

My body is ready, in any event.

Also, soundtrack came last week. I think 999 had better Novel tracks, but VLR's Escape tracks are amazing. I can get so much work done listening to them.

Dear Aksys:

Please please please please please make this game available in Europe for all the people who cannot (or don't want to) afford a PS Vita or a US-3DS.

I would thank you by making another LTTP thread on GAF where I praise this game to heaven because I got the endings in the best order by accident.
That and my first born son.

It's all yours, just make it possible for me to play the game on my European 3DS ;_;

Sincerely,

Bjoern the Smexy
