Apparently the founder of Surgent Studios, Abubakar Salim, that just developed Zau Tales of Kenzera had a company set up with him and the Sweet Baby Inc founders called “Bebe Sucre” (sweet baby). Sounds like a shell company for Abubakar Salim to enrich himself off the publisher provide funds for DEI consulting projects/checkmarks. Funnelling consulting funds to companies you have ownership in is really suspect. Should be investigated by EA, the publisher. People asked, why would a Kenyan need to outsource the writing of his story…. Probably to get a cut of the funding dollars I’m guessing.

It’s not surprising as Kim Belair, founder of SBI, was ex Ubisoft Montreal Narrative the studio in charge of Shadows. Her viewpoint must be ingrained there and Ubisoft is still a client of theirs.

I came across this story of a DEI head at Facebook and Nike. They store $5 million through kickbacks to them from companies they set up to funnel DEI funds to.

A friend recently told me about the game "Wagadu Chronicles", developed by a Berlin-based studio that was explicitly all about diversity. Their founding from several sources: 175.000 Euro from the German taxpayer, an undisclosed amount from Riot Games and 163.000 Euro through a Kickstarter campaign. A few months ago, the alpha came out - and it looks and plays like one would expect, almost complete trash. With microtransactions front and center.

Then this announcement came:

Yeah, it took quite some time and almost the full destruction of the industry as we knew, but yeah, seems we are finally there after so many years.

It was 2011 and the Occupy Wall Street movement, that was the last time the "left" was truly united and even had support from a lot of right leaning blue collar workers too. The attention was pushed against the bankers who were profiting from the 2008 financial crash they caused, it was a real common man Vs big banks thing.

After that was disbanded is where oddly the seeds were planted which you could say lead to the distractions and infighting we have today, suddenly race issues was everywhere, sexism was the go to complaint, we got culture wars, gamergate, me too, etc, etc, where it feels like the focus has shifted on keeping us all fighting each other.

You really hit the nail on the head. Big Media is responsible for a lot of the strife and animosity between people today. There was nothing natural about the way they started focusing 99% on racial and political stuff to shift focus from rich people.

I mean, if I was a psychopathic billionaire and I owned the mother company of newspapers it would clearly be in my best interest to take the heat off me and my partners. I've never taken critical race theory and other nonsense seriously as the origin and push of those ideas is anything but benevolent. Hopefully these times we live in that are filled with hysteria can be replaced by common sense and peace soon.

It's not the first, games like The Crew 2 or GRID Legends were pretty woke. You can easily make that happen by introducting some story mode and/or "diverse" characters you need to interact with. Or you can have someone trying to lecture you about something instead of just letting you drive, like they've done that with NfS Unbound.
