What? Why would it? Japan only seems to add about 25K-ish per month. NPD Xbox is always ahead, though the margin was lower with MK8. And has the Wii U been shown to be selling better in any Euro Areas? Definitely not UK. Maybe France is the only one I could see.
Of the three I only own a Wii U, but I really don't understand people who think it can finish second...

Yeh it's managed to avoid the top 50 charts a lot if there isn't a release that week.
In June? potentially. I'm sure more Wii Us were sold than XB1s in Germany too based on these software charts. At the very least, Wii U software is selling much better there.
UK market still stronger than last year
YTD Units 2011: 22.51 million
YTD Units 2012: 15.05 million (-33.1%)
YTD Units 2013: 12.15 million (-19.3%)
YTD Units 2014: 11.56 million (-4.8%)
YTD Revenue 2011: £513.5 million

YTD Revenue 2013: £290.3 million (-16.9%)
YTD Revenue 2014: £326.3 million (+12%)
The units figure is down, but there was a point where it was -12% for the year. So things are getting better.
IIRC, France + Germany = 1,5X UK.true, but one would think the margin in the UK is significantly higher than anything the Wii U could put up elsewhere in Europe
Damn, working as a XBOX rep in Germany must be really frustrating. Xbox was never strong in Germany but no titles in the TOP50 for two weeks is really bad. Still, Germany loves Halo too and this should do good numbers.
I was not talking about ending second at the end, nor being sure about actual sales, but as some replies pointed out, the wiiu vs xbone race it's not so closed so far.
In UK xbone is going stronger for sure, but the average 35k per month the Wiiu sells in Japan recently could cover that gap. In US the delta was thinner despite the xbone price cut and it seems obvious that MK pushed the Wiiu ahead the xbone in France and Germany (unless the xbone users don't buy games and every single existing wiiu owner is buying MK), and MK was able to chart highly also in other PAL market, as Italy. Plus, don't forget the recently released numbers for x360+ xbone shipped by MS in the last quarter...
It's maybe dangerous to make predictions with numbers for WiiU when they had their biggest release (MK). Xbox1 will sell a lot to christmas, at least in the US and also has a steady supply of major 3rd party titles while the WiiU sales probably are going into *wait for [next 1 st party title]* mode.
That's nice to see. Approaching 2012 levels then. 2011 was a beast of a year it would seem
Wonder how 2015 will compare

Xbox One is so dead in Germany that Fifa 14 couldn't even make it into the top 100. All versions had a sizable increase in sales, for example the PC version went from outside top 100 to 31st place.

Watch Dogs has helped to narrow the gap, the problem is that the gap will widen a lot in September since it's when Grand Theft Auto V was released.
The market contraction in this generation will be huge.

Damn, that's even worse than what I expected. But then again, digital downloads are not included in these figures, right?
Seems like the XBO crowd is more download-oriented than the 360 crowds and also the Sony bunch, so that the XBO stats might be misrepresenting.

...Are you saying that the 3DS version of FIFA 14 was in top 100 in Germany, but not the Xbox One SKU? This is beyond crazy.

I think it was Ubisoft that said 10-15% of their sales were digital, besides given how pro PC Germany is compared to other countries, I'd be completely shocked if that ever was the case with the XBO.
Yes, the only Xbox One game in top 100 is Watch Dogs.
Going by anecdotal (amazon charts) evidence the Xbox One is outsold at a ratio by at least 6:1 by the PS4. The WiiU also sells better currently.

Wii U was #8 seller on amazon.fr and #22 in amazon.de, while Xbox One didn't rank in the top 100, in both of these countries...
Meanwhile in UK, the 2 consoles were to be found further in the rankings, with the Xbox One at #28 and Wii U at #56 (smallest ranking difference in 8 months there).
In amazon Canada, another interesting market, Wii U had 2 SKUs before the Xbox One in June.
These are small WW samples, but better than nothing to estimate which console sold the most in June, after the PS4. Most likely: Wii U.
That's a weird assumption you make, what is your source for saying this? This isn't the electoral college, margins matter, and the Xbox One in the UK is probably the only place in Europe where either one can be said to be selling "decently".
My local Sainsbury's has an MK8 bundle on the shelf. They haven't stocked the Wii U since about 3 months after launch. Oooooooooh.

also lol at using Amazon, when you know it skews in favor of Wii U due to its lack of retail presence (especially Amazon Canada lol)
Yeah, so the XB1 is definitely fucked in Germany. I don't see how they can turn that one around.

The UK heatwave continues, kids are all on holiday and there’s not a console new release in sight.
The overall market drops 3% units/revenue over last week and that means week 30 is the second lowest (units) so far this year and the lowest for revenue. Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ (+3%) completes a double hat-trick of consecutive weeks at No1 (weeks 22-24 and weeks 28-30), now just 1 week away from equalling FIFA 14’s 7 weeks at No1 this year (12 weeks at No1 since launch). The aforementioned ‘FIFA 14’ from EA remains at No2 (+5%), Microsoft’s ‘Minecraft 360 Edition’ climbs three places to No3 (+4%) and 505 Games’ ‘Sniper Elite 3’ climbs one place to No4 (-6%).
The weeks big climber is Warner’s ‘The Lego Movie Videogame’ (+41%), climbing 7 places to No5 and benefitting from the campaign surrounding the launch this week of the movie on DVD/Blu-ray (out Monday 21st July). Sony’s ‘Minecraft PS3 Edition’ is now at No6 (-3%) and has climbed one place every week for the last 4 weeks. Elsewhere in the Top 40 EA’s ‘Skate 3’ (No25 / +17%) continues a remarkable return to the Top 40 (now stretching back 17 consecutive weeks) – the last time this title graced the Top 40 was almost 2 years ago and the game itself dates back to 2010. EA also have the highest re-entry at No31 with ‘Need for Speed: Rivals’ (+44%), benefitting from some price promotion activity.
