They didn't translate most of the trophy stuff. if you load the trophies app, everything but the Trophy Titles are still Japanese.

They're all really simple trophies anyway. Complete a mission, complete all Rank E/D/C/B/A/S missions, collect all parts, etc.

Figured as such by the titles. So far it scratches my Mech itch I've had for awhile, and at the very least should keep me busy until Thursday for Pillars of Eternity.

If anyone has any more hands-on impressions, that'd be great!

I just started on the Rank C missions, and I'm still having fun. Its definitely a budget mobile game, but it's worth the price of admission. A good selection of parts, some decent weapon variety.

You have 3 weapons you can equip at any time. Left (Square) Right (Triangle) and Back (Circle)

The Left / Right weapons have been the standard Melee / Ranged (Bullet, Laser) types. Each part can have a color coded rarity which dictates the special effects they can have (Extra damage, less energy consumed, ect)

The back weapons are your heavy hitters, the ones I've seen so far are similar to a giant laser cannon, a multi-head rocket launcher, and grenade launchers.

I picked it up and played through the first rank of missions on the PS TV -- this definitely isn't a game for everyone. It feels like a PS1/PS2 type game ... a bit of an overhead Armored Core. It moves slow enough where you can plan which weapon to use and plot your attacks, but if you sit around you'll get killed.

There are definitely a lot of parts to collect, and the weapons and armor allow you to build to your play style. I saw in the options that there is an autosell feature, which I can already tell will be awesome.

I'm personally very pleased with my purchase ... I have a lot of games right now that have kind of a heavy time investment. It's nice to have one you can sit down with for 15 minutes or half an hour and get some progression and be able to pick up again later without losing the skills you need to play.

However, if you're looking for twitch gameplay that's really smooth, a really deep loot system, or something to show off the power/abilities of your system -- this is not that game. It's a fun, niche Japanese mech game.

So, is this any good? I'm interested because it sorta looks like Diablo. Also, that $15 price tag is fairly appealing as well.

Wait, it's a phone port?

What's the size... I may bite.

Poor choice of words, I meant you can tell its more of a budget handheld style game. The missions are timed with 5-15 minute timers, getting progressively more difficult. You're also graded on a scale so you can work towards getting better ratings for each mission.

The size is 661MB.

Lots of part drops.

To me it's kind of like a weird cross between Armored Core and the Strike games (Nuclear/Soviet/Jungle)

Really, really fun to play and then pimp out your machine with the new parts to make it look cooler.

Ouch, timed missions? That kills my enthusiasm a little bit. I guess if it works then I'm fine with it, though.

I think this sums up all I could ask for from this game.

I haven't really run into any issues with the timers, it seems like you're given plenty of time to complete your objectives. Every 5 minute timed mission I've had involved no combat, just rushing from A to B and such.

So far every 15 minute timed mission I've cleared in less than 5 minutes, except one right now I'm having trouble with.

Played some of it last night after rage quitting outta Bloodborne.

You can really tell this game had a low budget especially with its translation. I find it really egregious that this game choose to keep the incorrect O for confirm. Like literally stood at the front screen for 20 seconds pressing X trying to figure out why the hell it wouldn't start until I figured out that O is confirm in this game. Basically have to train myself out of X not being confirm for this game.

Still its enjoyable. I don't mind the timed stuff so much personally because I'm going to play it in really small bite sized chunks around other stuff I'm playing like the aforementioned Bloodborne.

I've put about 5 hours in by now, half way through the Rank B missions.

If I had to give it a score, I'd probably put it at 7/10. I have a few issues, but none of them are really anything that completely ruins the experience.

First and foremost, which has been mentioned before, is the font used. It's terrible, makes the reading a bit awkward. Why this wasn't caught and changed boggles my mind.

The UI for managing your Dock, to change the parts, is a little bit clunky. Combined with being unable to change the X to Accept and the O to cancel has caused me to sell a part I didn't mean to sell more than once. It's hard to break that habit to press X, I guess.

Mission variety has been okay to decent, so far. A couple escort style missions, a few delivery / fetch missions. Most are just destroy X amount of enemies, or destroy a specific enemy. Weapon variety has been okay, I would have liked the UI to be a bit clearer on what type of weapons did what. Its fine once you know the symbols, but its a bit confusing at first. The manual is no help, as its basically 4-5 pages.

I think I would have liked a slightly higher point of entry and had the DLC rolled into the main game for release. So far there's been less than 15 missions per rank, and it would have been nice to have more missions without forking out more money for the DLC.

Overall, I'd still have to say its actual game play is similar to the Strike games from the PSX days, with the parts + mech customization of Front Mission / Armored Core.

Really good for what it strives to do, definitely worth the $15 price of entrance even with my nitpicks.
