Pretty much also explains why Miyamoto was talking about Link not having a sword this time around.

Because all you need is one WM+ to control it properly. You don't even need WM+ for the jet ski game. Excite Truck only uses one regular wiimote and it controls just fine. The wiimote + nunchuck for the jet ski is just for aesthetics/feel, plus you can control the throttle just like a real jet ski.

Jet Ski, if you've noticed the E3 demo reel, has the guy holding just the WiiMote+ M+ only now. I have a feeling that the controls were modified.

I believe they went for HULA HOOP TM instead of ROTATING PLASTIC WHEEL in Wii Fit. Maybe Nintendo just like to provide that authentic, precise experience.

I played many events the other day and this is a must-have for me.

The way it shows how the WM+ can 1:1 represent the Wiimote on screen at the intro-flying part is really illustrative, that should've been in GST/VT/TG in some form.

I loved table tennis, swordplay and archery. I'll post some impressions later. Here you have some sword-basket-archery vids:

there you can see how does the Z+pull system works for archery: you can move your hand or just press Z and wait for the crosshair. Moving is just a shortcut/nice effect :D

GST + this is perfect for me ATM, but I may pick up Tiger too!

Anyone else finding themselves mimicking the onscreen actions of the demo and trailer clips?

I am really looking forward to this game. Gonna love the shit out of the sword fighting bit if nothing else... but from the looks of it, most of the other games should be pretty fun as well.

I can't tell, but it looks like the nunchuk's wire is longer then normal, in which case I need one of these.

Next console or peripheral, Nintendo needs an upgraded nunchuk with better motion sensing and no wires.

Anyone know if there's going to be any Wii + Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort + M+ bundle/package with this release?

I had sold my Wii about 9 months ago since I had a bunch of virtual console games I never played and they were tied to the machine. I've just been waiting for a good deal before buying again and the lack of games since SMG have made it easy for me to wait.

There won't. The only bundle coming out is the MH3 Bundle in Japan.

Wii is going to take over Japan this summer. My God.

In WSR you're suggested to re-calibrate the attachment when you've been some time without doing it. You have to put it on a table on its front, and an animation tells you it's zero again (great, not like in GST/VT).

It doesn't matter which games you're playing, it's a matter of time. However, in swordplay, first thing is point to the center and press A, then going to vertical again. Not as boring as the calibration, just the start position, so no problem here.

You have it clear in the previous video I posted.

In the same way, and also in that video, if you press A in archery, you tell it you're ready to start aiming, so you don't have to do it until you have your bow "up".

Cycling looks rather gimmicky to me. Do you even have the ability to steer the bike? Looks like it's all about moving your arms up and down to "pedal"

I think you have to steer, it looked like he had to stop pedaling when he came to turns. But yeah...it and Wakeboarding look worse than the others, based on the videos.

It really makes Wii Sports look like a rough prototype, however classic it's destined to become. Kinda like Super Mario Bros. 3 tops SMB in every single department despite SMB 1 being THE defining home console game of the past 20 years.

[EDIT] Out of curiosity: what is everyone looking forward to the most in WSR? Has to be Kendo, Ping Pong, Frisbee and Archery for me. Maybe Skydiving and Airplane too.

Yeah it really makes Wiisports look like a simple tech demo.

I'm looking forward to playing basketball and ping pong the most.

Looking forward to the plane the most for single player. I most want to smash some friends in the kendo game. Frisbee golf is also up there but I have yet to see video of it yet. I'm sure it'll be great.

This game looks great. I wish they put M+ Boxing in the game though. That was one of the most popular inclusions in the original Wii Sports but it was too finicky for a lot of people. Some of the sports are unappealing, I mean I can go to the rec center and play basketball or do some cycling. Kendo looks great though, knocking people into the water will never get old. I hope there's an unlockable feature that turns it into lava.

My hype is ludicrously high, but I've not really been posting in the threads. In fact, I've only ever seen one video of Wii Sports Resort since last E3, I'm trying to keep it all as a surprise to me. I've been reading the threads a bit, though, so I have a vague idea of what to expect, but mostly I'm letting it all surprise me :D

I don't know, but in the official trailer the guy is just "pedaling" without any kind of steering whatsoever and the biker takes corners on auto pilot.
