"Damn, he must have mixed it up with Final Fantasy VII Remake!"
What a time to be alive.
I still really really want this though.
Well, if they both got the numbers confused I'll be really surprised.
I wish Square would focus on 1 remaster per series at a time, tbh. It seems a bit overkill to just had FFX/X-2 release a second time, turn around and have FF7r announced and then turn around AGAIN to have XII remade.
It's a bit too much.
I was in the 4th row. There was no teleprompter. He could have been reading from a teleprompter and couldn't discern the V from an X.
I don't think anyone would ever mess up the Arabic numerals for 7 and 12. And I don't think someone involved in music production would get the Roman numerals for VII and XII mixed up either.
I want this, but I'm pretty sure he mixed up with FF7.
presuming that he had just said "Final Fantasy 7" before this video and that's what the applause is for...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMGTCxb6rAc
then he seems to pretty clearly say 12 in addition to just having previously said 7, and then also 15. ...meaning, no mix-up, he mentioned each
still, I'm scared to trust into this too much
Too late, and to their sorrow do those who misplace their fate in hype and hope learn their fate
Here's hoping! Need official confirmation before getting TOO hyped.
Yay! It made so much sense to do this. Square-Enix making some really good decisions lately.
Square and Capcom had this identity crisis last gen because they felt like they had to find some way to appeal to the crowds that is making popular shooter franchises for example so much money. After a poor generation (for the most part, IMO) it seems like they're trying to get back on the good side of the fans that have stuck with them for so long. At least this is the concocted reasoning in my head, but I think it's pretty safe to assume especially when developers even commented on FFXIII's linearity as being because people like linear shooters or something. It didn't make any damn sense so it could have just been a bullshit excuse, but some of these Japanese companies were definitely going out of their comfort zone in order to please more people and it backfired greatly.
As it turns out, all you need to really do is keep doing what you do best. They realize that we actually want this kind of shit and not that kind of shit and they're giving it to us.

I'm glad you aren't everyone. If it fixes the garbage battle system, I might buy it. Otherwise SE shouldn't even bother if all they plan on doing is making an HD remaster/remake. The game has one of the worst battle systems making it the worst FF.

You're so right about last gen. I hope this gen is different just as you said.

It just wasn't all that common for game companies to make sure they have all that stuff safe & secure somewhere, at the time. Other times some freak accidents might've destroyed some of them. Sometimes they just disappear at some point in time, one way or another.I've heard that, too. Boggles my mind something like that can happens. Are there any details out there?

Fuck, it's not happening? Sigh.
It still might.
For the record, FFN has been around for a while and they don't spread lies. This is the first time I do hear they got an anonymous tip though,
Its crazy to think how many huge FF games are out/coming over the years .
-FF XIV: A Realm Reborn + its Expansions
-FF X HD
-FF X-2 HD
-FF XV
-World of FF
-FF Explorers
-FFVII Remake
-FFXII Remake/Remaster
.....That is a lot of FF, and its nice to see them happening :').
