3DS hits 19million and Wii U finally passes 2.5 million, but the last 100,000 came much quicker thanks to Splatoon! Hopefully the console can be up YOY. PS4 doing really well despite the lack of new software! What will MGS5 do for it's hardware sales?

Every week people keep forgetting that BLOODBORNE IS INCLUDED AS A DOWNLOAD CODE WHEN YOU PURCHASE PS4 in Japan at the moment. -.-

What about Wii U and splatoon. It's the biggest game in Japan right now. Also ps4 was suppose to sell even worse this year with the benefit of the launch hype. Also everyone is waiting for NX where MGS, DQ and FF will be ported to at launch.

That would be an insane ~-60% drop, for a game that has been in charts for months. Not that low, but 25k - 30k is a good number. The lowest number for Busters next week by YSO was 30k, so under that number, everything is possible. 26k for Splatoon, would mean a ~-40% drop, that it's most likely to happen, since only bumped ~+15% this week.

Anyway, just saw the PzD:SMB Edition sales and... damn, talk about a bomba. They still haven't sold the whole stock from Day 1, have they?

Other than that, 3DS games sales are good. Curious about Splatoon sales outsides of holidays.

It has to sell it's regular 25.000 - 40.000 a week and have the normal holiday bump, so unless japan doesn't buy any portable hardware at all in the remaining months, it should get there this year.

I don't believe anyone thought Splatoon would turn the Wii U into an overnight sales success. I think people are just thrilled to see a new IP from Nintendo do so well, especially when you consider it's on a (mostly) dead console.

This is a good point but at least Nintendo seems to have a good brand new IP on their hands, should come in very useful for NX.

That's factually wrong. Splatoon has be carrying Wii U and increased its baseline.

Also, PS4 is a different situation than Wii U as it is selling on potential - and the big hits are tangible and will start dropping in the coming months.

The Wii U was selling sub 10,000 prior to Splatoon. It's certainly raised the baseline sales for the system by a decent amount.

But one game can't work miracles. It's not going to triple the weekly sales of the system. This is about as good as you can expect for just one new game. Maybe once Super Mario Maker comes out next month that will change.

IA/VT got the top spot as expected given it just released (second and third places went to Makai Shin Trillion and Date a Live respectively) but the important part is that Deep Crimson and the Vita Version of Estival both made to the list.

Nothing bad for Deep Crimson considering is been a year since its release.

Oh yeah, you're right. It's that Atelier game (not from the JRPG series) that was delayed several times iirc.

There's 18 weeks left, which means 55 555 units per week... that'd be surprising if the 3DS didn't manage to do that with several 100k+ weeks in December, major releases (MHX, etc.).

Really happy for Splatoon. It's a game I have no interest in, but happy to see it do well.

Thinking about buying Daigyakuten, and Fates, so interested in their progress.

Yoshi is my favorite WiiU game, so I wish it does more.

Buying a download card for DQVIII this week. Wonder if it'll break 1mil? I suppose it must. 1.5?

Pre release most people were thinking this would either bomb or have relatively little success. The fact that it turned out to be a huge success and actually increase the baseline sales of the wii U by a noticeable amount for this long is pretty amazing.

It takes more than 1 game to turn around the fate of a failed console. The wii U's fate was sealed long before the release of splatoon.
