dark10x said:1) Not at all. I've dropped my black PSP from about 4 feet up onto a hard tile floor and watched in horror as it skidded along. Thankfully, it landed on its back. No problems with it.
dark10x said:2) It can scratch easily enough, but as long as you use a case, it shouldn't be a big deal.
dark10x said:3) Battery life varies per game. Original launch systems lasted a good 4-6 hours, but I hear the updated batteries give it some extra juice. Don't forget about sleep mode (just flip the switch quickly). You can leave it in sleep mode for WEEKS without a problem and come right back to the game where you left off.

Seconded.Marconelly said:I'll recommend something that noone did so far, and that I think makes a perfect handheld game:
Pinball Hall of Fame
It's a really well done pinball simulation (and I'm really picky with my pinball simulators), with 11 of Gottliebs best pinball tables.

Oh my gosh! More viral marketing from SCEA!M3Freak said:...well, it's more than a hunch. I'm about 99% sure. Kinda excited - never had a handheld gaming system before. If she did get a PSP, I'm looking forward to trying it out with the PS3 (eventually...when it stops disappearing from store shelves).
Anyway, my point is I don't know much about the PSP. I know there are a few good games out there, but what the hell are they? Anything in particular I should pick up? My preference is platformers, action, racing, adventure, and I like RPGs too. Oh, puzzle games are always great.
Besides games, anything else, such as accessories, worth picking up? I might need a memory stick - 1 GB, 2GB, or something else?

Sure. And that's why I said "mostly." And I'm really talking generally about the thread-crapping that seems to happen every time the PSP is brought up around here. I find that annoying, but maybe that's just because of my Sony fanboyism.shidoshi said:Oh, absolutely. My point was simply that it isn't just Nintendo fanboys who are bored with their PSP, just as it also doesn't make sense to say that the people who find the DS boring do so simply because they are Sony fanboys.
I WANT to love my PSP. Very badly. But, for me, there are just so few games on it I could give a crap about. I wish that wasn't the case.

Have they fixed the screen yet? I really wanted to keep my old PSP, but the ghosting drove me up the wall. I would consider repurchasing if Sony did a stealth upgrade, as there are some games that interest me again.

I used to convert movies(PSP Video9) on mine and watch them off the memory stick. The ghosting and blurriness was awful. Hopefully it is better now.

Good call. It might be slightly difficult to find now, but it's inexpensive and very easy to get into. It's one of PSP's underappreciated gems.
