The lighting in that USAToday picture makes me suspicious as to whether or not its been doctored or not.

The helmet looks separate from the body, like some kind of GAF avatar!

Also the shadow cast on the back wall certainly suggests it is a game screen.

They are probably placeholders until they optimize properly. That's what happened with Warhawk, the early textures were horrible.

Honestly, I don't think this screenshot was ever meant to be released to the public. It just isn't a very good screenshot, and I'm willing to bet its from an old build, which would explain the background textures. The model sure does look nice though.

Then again, it is a very low-res pic so it's hard to really make any judgments based on it.
