Mega Man= The ear candy of my youth, present, and hopefully future! Excellent thread.

My personal favs OSTs are:

Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 7
Mega Man 8
Rockman & Forte
Mega Man X1-4
Mega Man Zero 1-4
Mega Man NT
Mega Man ZX
And the soundtrack to ZX Advent is pretty darn good...though I've yet to actually play that game yet.

I've had a Midi of Shade Man's song for the longest as a ringtone and people outside of Mega Man think it's some cool hip-hop song or something. XD

Magnificent thread. Question: In how many other Mega Man games does the MM2 opening theme appear? I think there's a bit of it in the end credits of Mega Man 4, and it's in the medley playing on the Anniversary Collection title screen. Anywhere else?

It's used in Power Battle/Fighters, as well as MvC.

Do you mean the story portion or the title screen? The story portion is also from the MM1 credits and the title screen is Megaman's theme and shows up everywhere.

Man, I was just replaying some old MM off the Anniversary Collection, and was going, "fuck yeah, this music rules", and a second later thought, "this shit deserves a thread", and a second after that thought, "someone's definitely made one already". Bam. :lol Kudos.

It's so hummable, so easy to listen to over and over again, so cover-able...the perfect action game music.

I've been fascinated youtube-hopping to hear some covers and what people have done with the music.

Have you guys seen/heard of the vocal remixes of some MM tracks? It's borderline annoying/fascinating/amazing:

Didn't see it, so I gotta say that I'm a big fan of the 20th Anniversary Mega Man 1~6 Rock Arrange Version that Capcom put out not long ago. Especially the title mix medley.

Woah, so I stumbled on a remix of a Magnet Man track, and realized it was remixing the Mega Man II (game boy) Magnet Man stage. Man, I had MM II and III on the Game Boy, and completely forgot that they (or at least 2) had original tracks instead of just using the NES ones!

Man, so many of these tracks are awesome! Like, MM2/3/4-calibre. Who the hell composed these games? Wikipedia does not help me.

Wow, some dude ripped all of the MMII GB Music and re-did it in 8-bit NES quality (which was an upgrade over the GB sound chip)....man, amazing. Stage Select screen and everything! I love passionate nerds :lol

Wow, it's kinda odd seeing this thread up again after so long.

Anyway, I wanna say that I had enough trouble juggling all the links in the thread already - if I ever want to throw in MM9 and 10 (and other remix stuff and whatnot), I'll probably start over with a whole new thread.
