I realised that there isn't any official screens for the Vita version, those screens are posted by a fan of the game. WTF Sega? >_>

They proved themselves Vitawise with VT4. After you posted their appreciation for their game running on Vita, I was sold.

Agreed.

By the way, cross-posting this here for anybody who has not visited the Vita thread. First gameplay I've found of the Vita version.

First gameplay of Sonic & All-Stars Racing. Watching now.

And here's the same track from PS3 version for comparison. Looks like a fantastic port with only some dynamic shadows missing.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
So, Vita has a downport of the main version and 3DS gets its own whole different game? Or is Vita version a 3DS port, it looks quite blocky in those screens (look at those palm trees and other background elements).

3DS is a separate version. Vita is a downport. 3DS version has some stuff cut out.

It's the console version, with graphical sacrifices. But it's native resolution, which is the most important thing. Sumo are damn techno wizards.

I admited that I wasn`t impressed but the images, but that video changed my mind. Sumo are really great developers.

I will get this in the near future, but probably only next year. I still have NfS to play on Vita, and I have ordered the WiiU version of SASRT.

Too bad about the 3DS game then, hope it's about as good overall and doesn't lack in amount of content or a lot of people will be disappointed... Is a competent dev making it?

Are you already on my PSN friends list?

If not, add me: Pacificsun0481

But you might be...dunno, don't have vita with me to check...

or some reason I thought we were already friends on PSN, but I guess not. I just sent you and Twinduct a friend request.

Those blown up images look terrible regardless. When quoted they look great.

They aren't blown up, it's native res. Downscaling the images would be stupid, since they can be viewed in screens with all ranges of sizes and DPIs. Retina iPhone and iPad screenshots also look like this on the average PC monitor.

Looks delicious.

How the fuck did we get to a point where in 2012 a developer is appreciated for achieving an almost steady 30fps for a racing game?
This is depressing :(

There have always been racers that were 30fps. It's not like this is new. We're applauding SUMO for keeping the Vita port 30fps like the console games.

Those 3DS screenshots are super blurry. However, I don't think they look THAT bad. The Vita screens DO look bright and crisp though.

The 3DS screens are horrible captures, the real game was shown in a short video clip and looks tons better. I'd like to see more (and I'd like to see racing rather than slow-boating and flying,) but this should give you a better idea. It's certainly the lesser game, but from word about what Sumo cut and what from the looks of this clip, Sumo might have right by both handhelds.

I just ordered the Vita version from Amazon.co.uk :) Free shipping, and they also remove VAT since i live outside of UK, so the final price was very nice (£21.5).

^ That video looks like the Vita version a bit doesn't it?

The camera is much closer to the race car, and the edges of the plane had more jaggies as it passed through the scene; both symptoms of a smaller screen.

You could make the case that it is a zoomed in version of Vita footage with the HUD removed, though.

Sumo itself is doing it.

Surprised at how many people think the Vita version looks good seeing how it is lacking shaders. It definitely could have looked better. Then again, I haven't seen anything too bad in the game so fa-

Anyway, here are more screenshots I took: http://www.sonicretro.org/2012/12/s...-sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-for-vita/

Hmm...that is a bit disappointing, to be sure.

No, from the youtube videos i mean.

Looks like 30fps to me. Not sure what you're looking at.
