Tom Sizemore. He was in Saving Pvt Ryan and Heat, then next I saw him rehab. I guess dating the head of an escort empire can screw you up. Nah, he was probably screwed up already.
And another vote for Michael Madsen, who seems to come from the same school of acting. Did I see him in a Justin Beaver video? Ugh.

Pacino, De Niro and Keanu say hello.

Sizemore was in Black Hawk Down, and he was great in it. After that... darkness.

Hercules and Xena, and pretty much every major character on that show aside from Bruce Campbell.

edit:

I think you mean the dude who did Eric Matthews, not Shawn.

Eh, Lucy Lawless still does sci-fi movies from time to time, and she was a major villain in BSG and Spartacus.

Ellijah Wood will never be big (lolz pun intended) because of his short stature.

Hollywood just doesn't cast short actors in main roles, unless you are devilishly handsome like Tom Cruise or Young Al Pacino.

They'd rather cast no charisma goons like Channing Tatum and Hayden Christensen who at least look good with their actresses and stand quite a few inches taller.

I barely even recognized her when I watched BSG a couple weeks ago. Didn't know she was from New Zealand and I didn't expect her to still look so good, I thought she was older than 45.

An actor has a hit and then disappear after a few turkeys is the norm for actors.

What amaze me are some actors who were in so many big movies and still couldn't secure decent B-list careers afterward.

My favorite example is Orlando Bloom. Look at the movies he had been in between 2001 - 2007.

3 LotR movies
3 Pirates movies where he was arguable the leading man.
Kingdom of Heaven, holy shit this is a fucking masterpiece.

I know he tried a couple romantic comedy leading man and failed. But he should be able to get in decent B action movies. And yet he can't get work in any movie you have heard of. Amazing!

He announced that he was taking time off to be with family.

This is simultaneously the dumbest, most hilarious, and most infuriating thread I've ever read. Anywhere. Of all time. OF ALL TIME.

Worst post ever. He's been around since the fucking 50's. He's just probably tired of the screen and wants family time. As is the case with many in here. Not everyone who acts does it because it's their passion. Some would prefer to spend time living life outside of the camera and make enough to do that and move on in life.

his "partner" is the biggest swinger in hollywood. even got her daughter in on it.

family time. heh.

For real. I mean, Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Michelle Gellar crashed and burned? 99% of all wannabe actresses would kill for Aniston or SMG's career path.

Jennifer Aniston has one of the longest running comedy female lead careers but you don't find SMG's post Buffet career disappointing? Her agent has only got her one honest to god romantic comedy (Simply Irresistible) and its budget was 6 million.

I think SMG and Alicia Silverstone both have pretty disappointing movie careers.

Clearly Australia's best export.

Reckless kelly was awesome too. And it has hugo weaving in it. Mr accident was pretty bad though.

To those saying hilary swank, she had 2 movies out last year, and another 2 out next year. Swank never pumped out movies. She always seemed to carefully choose her roles.
The girl who played newt in aliens did nothing else after that. I do wish michelle trachenburg was in more stuff though. So hot.

The real tragedy of Vin Diesel's career is that the Chuck Norris meme was basically stolen from him and it probably could have helped him out (which would have been much more preferable).

Also I'm officially the dumbest person on this planet. For over ten years I thought Lisa Kudrow and Gwyneth Paltrow were the same person. I've seen hours and hours of Friends and bunch of Paltrow's movies... yet it wasn't until this thread I realized they were different people with very different careers. Jesus fucking christ.

EDIT: Oh, I actually posted in this thread before too? Fucking, man.

They are too old to compete with the new starlets that attract a teenage audience (Stewart, Fox, Emma Watson, ...)
.

Sorry had to point this out, but did you mean emma stone? Because aside from harry potter I can't think of any other relevant film she has done.

Or she just became old? Hollywood has limited leading roles for females, and even less for women between 35 and 55. Look at Julia Roberts after Erin and Ocean's, Uma Thurman after Kill Bill, even Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman seem to have become second-tier. In that range I can only think of Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock in the category of people that still sell movies as the lead. They are too old to compete with the new starlets that attract a teenage audience (Stewart, Fox, Emma Watson, ...) or that are convincing enough in romantic rules (Reese Witherspoon, Zoeey Deschanel, ...) and too young to compete for the more mature female roles. That category is dominated by people like Judi Dench, Diane Keaton, Glenn Close, Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep.

Most of the female leads that have disappeared, have become famous because of their romantic roles, something you can also see with male leads. Action stars (Pitt, Cruise, Damon) and character actors (Depp) have a longer life as an actor, but there are less roles like that for females.
Its tougher for women, but it could potentially be that 3 of those women won their oscars, jacked up their prices, and proceeded to deliver bombs/run of the mill Box Office with no real critical reception.

Chris Tucker only does a movie when hes broke.

Also might be a little too early to judge. But guaranteed daniel radcliffe wont get much work.

Not sure about that. He seems to have intentionally been doing some smaller scale, even art house stuff. He seems like someone genuinely interested in acting and film instead of someone just trying to make hits.

[Elijah Wood] Can currently be seen starring in the critically acclaimed FX comedy Wilfred.
I don't know about critically acclaimed. It's certainly just watched and viewed.

My vote for crash and burners goes to... every actor on every season of Dancing with the Stars not named Mario Lopez.

Why? A 40 million take from being the main character of a six-season TV series and a handful of movies actually sounds like he kinda got a raw deal, if you break it down. An adult actor would have undoubtedly been paid many times that for the same work.
Yeah but that is really unfortunate that anyone would make that much money atleast imo.

I'll just assume that you're talking about that random twitter dude....

That person on twitter was being a jerk insulting his work and the actors response was kinda justified but bragging about making 40 million dollars is kind of insensitive imo.

Being an actor is pretty hard and a competitive field so it is understandable that some actors/actresses have crashes in their career. Its kinda like professional athletes imo.
