Leaked Battlefield: Hardline gameplay

I didn't think about it until others pointed it out but why is it even police themed if the cops AND robbers both have high power military equipment, weapons, and vehicles. When I saw the leaked trailer I thought they were going to try and make Battlefield: Payday which I thought was cool. This is just battlefield 4 but one side is cops and another robbers. Where's the unique gameplay that should be tied to this theme?

I guess we'll know more when they properly unveil the game, eh?

I was going to say that it is very obvious why EA is refusing to release mod tools, but even modders could do a more thorough job than this.

Visceral to Include Battlefield YouTubers and Competitive Players in Hardline Development Process

Various Battlefield personalities within the competitive and YouTube communities are making clear their involvement in the development process of Visceral Games’ upcoming cops vs. criminals shooter, Battlefield Hardline.

Allegedly, they’re calling it EA’s “Game Changer” program, which, judging by tweets from participants, aims to utilize feedback from some of Battlefield’s most hardcore audience members to better shape the game as it marches closer to launch this Fall.

According to reports, it appears that a handful of these individuals took part in a recent play test of sorts at EA’s headquarters where they got some hands-on time with the game and supplied Visceral developers with valuable feedback.

Obviously, no one is giving out specifics as to what they saw or played, but you can get some insight by simply checking out some of the Twitter feeds we’ve included below:

I more than likely missed a few, but that should give you the gist of things.

It was recently confirmed that Visceral is, in fact, leading development on both multiplayer and single player for Battlefield Hardline, with collaboration from Battlefield veteran studio, Digital Illusions CE.

It’s cool to see EA get some of Battlefield’s most respected community members involved in the game’s development, and it’s likely also a way to make good with gamers still shaken up over Battlefield 4′s troubled launch.

Do you think this approach from EA will have a positive impact on final release?

JackFrag's twitter feed is interesting: https://twitter.com/jackfrags/with_replies

I'd post the tweets but I don't know how.
I wouldn't listen to any of those guys, especially jack frags who was paid along with others $200,000 to not be negative about

If you watch the trailer again, they mention the gadgets and guns will be military-grade weapons along with the brief mention of tasers and handcuffs. Then you see RPGs and Gatling Guns, so I mentally checked out for this being authentic. I'm not expecting SWAT or even Payday levels of mechanics that support the role.

"Don't worry, knocking a chopper out of the sky is still the greatest thrills in gaming."

That statement shows how they're hesitant of trying to be more than just a Battlefield game, don't want to scare the fans with lesser weapons or slower mechanics.

Getting rid of the thing that allows for vertical movement would go some way towards making Battlefield less fun and dynamic as it would remove options and tactics.

I don't really see snipers being able to get on rooftops as being a problem. The problem is not being able to effectively counter that tactic. In many cases the only actual proper way of dealing with it is with a helicopter. So like, borrow a page from Watch Dogs and let players hack into building security, electrify the floor, blow up AC units, put those windowcleaning lift things on the sides of buildings, have Batman's grappling hook, jump pads, whatever.

Or bring back the MAV. Could blow up spawn beacons and push snipers off the buildings. Before they nerfed it you could roadkill them without the thing blowing up, it was great.

Oh it's still there. It's just with BF4's unlock system being shitty, it might as well not be. I'm an awful sniper, but I could do some good with the MAV. But first I need to be terrible and hate things until I amass 91k points. So that's a thing they could do; not lock away vital class gear. If Hardline does not do that that'd be swell.

Non skyscraper matches are hardly non dynamic. It is just the stupid 'everyone has unlimited parachutes' that makes urban matches so stupid. Have all the lifts to the roof you want, have pilots have one parachute.

Unlimited parachutes are just shit.

Kind of off topic, but since we're discussing visceral games as well, what was the last word on the dead space franchise? Like, the most recent comment from visceral regarding the franchise? I understand they're busy with this, and star wars, and even a new IP? But I reaaally want a new game on the new consoles, so I don't have to drag out old consoles or go to the PC to play. Even a remaster collection.
Hoping visceral employees read this.

Yeah, I figured there's some PR/Marketing dollars being paid to those guys to promote the game. It's a clever marketing strategy in my opinion, but it's too easy to figure it out.

EA knows they f'd up the BF4 launch and that the BF brand has a big poop stain on it, so this flying out of so-called "hardcore BF youtubers" is just a way for them to try to do damage control on the brand and make it seem like they actually care this time around.

Low information gamers will believe those youtubers when they all say, "I'm so excited for BF Hardline, I was hesitant at first but it's gonna be a great game, wish I could say more, can't wait to tell you guys more on June 9th."

Funny thing is, every single one of those twitter accounts all tweeted a similar message on the same exact day...

I guess you gotta give them some cred for the effort, but we've seen the leaked beta gameplay, unless they re-design the UI/HUD and change up the game textures, there's no hiding the fact that it looks like a re-skinned Battlefield 4.
