Hm...... they mention a price? I'm really interested in this for mobile purposes... Don't like lugging my giant desktop around.

Ouch.

It looks very uniform and neat but the lack of storage size sucks.

Edit: Aw, I just found out it has a 1 x 2.5” 1TB HDD... NICE!

Oh man, I forgot that we'd be at Skylake CPU's by the time we start getting these.

Awesome.

Also, I'd guess maybe $1200?

I know nothing about this kinda stuff but am certainly interested in these Steam Machines
How does it stack up against a PS4?

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Looks cool, but you only will be able to install like 1 current gen game without an external HDD.

A smooth but "cinematic" experience I'm sure.

Sold.

I am interested in a living room gaming machine and considered a notebook but I would be paying a premium for the chassis and screen that I wouldn't use.

This is right up my alley.

It's MXM as well so potentially you could put a 980 in.

It has 2 HDDs, a 64GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, not sure why they went with such a tiny SSD though.

I'm not suprised.
SSD don't bring too much for game in the end (sshd is enougth and a good alternative imo) and 64gb is more than enougth for all sytem task/function

By the time it releases 700$ is not an impossible price imo.

4 HDMI 2.0 ports... Why? If someone is looking to drive three 4K displays at 60Hz, I think its safe to say they'll have their own hardware anyway.

Desktop Skylake is probably Q3ish. It'll be my next CPU unless benches show it sucking drastically or something.
Same.

That still seems optimistic. Depends on just what CPU it is. But I guess the 970M wont be quite cutting edge anymore. I'd still guess around $1000 at best. Gotta remember these are pre-built, sold-for-profit machines.

Because its more convenient than having one 2.0 and three 1.4 ports or whatever.

Its also just plain less limiting. Maybe somebody wants to have one out to their 4k TV and one out to a 4k monitor.

Price will probably be crazy, but this would make a pretty neat small movable gamedev workstation for me.

My only guess is maybe they have a heads up on the kind of tech needed for different VR Headsets.

Nice bit of kit but hope the colour scheme changes. Hope there are no bright LEDs and they need to keep the USB ports and headphone/mic jacks black with smaller labels.

Also I still have my doubts on sky lake desktop in 2015. Maybe they will use a mobile sky lake cpu which may land late 2015, I still doubt that date too. And I think the other problem is 970m may already be outdated when the machine arrives.

This looks really interesting. I wwonder why they didn't go with the 980m. Guess others might offer it.

A lot of these Steam Machines aren't going to be hard-locked in specs and will offer multiple specifications. This one may be available with a 980M unless there's some specific reason it couldn't be used(power draw/heat maybe).
