It does look very good, and the Halo 3 trailer is certainly up to this quality, but the aspect ratio... 4:3 seems fishy to me.. I'll let the forgery experts handle it

i know why! The way that image looks w/ the lights and the shining or whatever makes it look like it's an action figure/toy as opposed to the badest assed dude in the galaxy.

edit: guys, this is how it looks playing... why the doubt, they even moved a camera around during one demonstration

It's not that surprising if it is in game. I persoanlly think Gears of War looks better, but hey, we have about 5 pics of Halo 3 and only a good minute's worth of footage for it. And we haven't seen the new weapons, modes, characters, enemies, worlds, vehicles, etc.

Come to think of it, something tells me this game will be delayed. Just have a hunch.

If you look hard enough, it's almost as if there are eyes and a nose behind the mask/visor and a scar on his cheek. Hehe...it just kind of caught my attention -- although it's probably just an awkward reflection.

It's not about "looking that good". It's about the visual impact of such an image, zoomed out in FPS style while different kinds of day and nighttime lighting.

Basically what you're left with, regardless of how many polygons Master Chief has, is something that shiny and striking up-close, and looking like a Halo 2 model from a mile away.
