So Germany and France both up for 3DS then.
Reggie seems to have been the under performer; November especially was mental of NoA.

UK is as we already knew.

Acknowledgment that 3DS hasn't been doing hot in the US makes me happy. Hopefully NCL puts a fire under NoA's ass (which they seem to be doing, looking at Fire Emblem promotion)

So 3DS in either France and Germany > UK?

Yeah this just got posted:

in usa had 5 titles in top 20, france 11/20, germany 10/20, spain 11/20, but uk was lower, still saying 3ds volumes accum exceeding ds ramp

It would be surprising if the hardware was selling better despite this.

So when he says the US has been their worst market, does he mean by titles that are in the top 20 in software sales? And not the actual sales numbers?

Maybe have your 3rd parties localize a game or two.

No fucking shit. I've had a 3DS for over a year now and still only own 3 goddamn games for the thing, while games I want haven't come out here due to localization delays, or haven't been announced at all (see Bravely Default). Animal Crossing should have been a holiday title here, etc. They need to get their shit together.

Its been suspected that France and German markets have become larger than the UK as the UK market contracts far more significantly.

Would be nice to get some more accurate trackers. Most of the European sales postings and/or news seem to originate and stay in the UK

Probably also in terms of "relative to the size of the market, our performance is the worst" along with the lack of a year over year boost (it actually declined year over year in the Fall at least).

The statement he used to contextualize this was that their handheld sales in the U.S. used to be 2.5 times higher than their handheld sales in Japan, but now their U.S. handheld sales are 27% lower than their Japanese handheld sales.

Well he is the CEO, it is his responsibility and he would be the fall guy if things don't improve. It comes with the title.

When the going gets tough he's to blame but when the Wii and Ds came about that was just luck right?

Am really not sure why we don't have a UK then Rest of Europe sales thread.
Suppose I could just post one and see how it goes. If we split them we'd get more interest in the rest of Europe and everyone would gain more information.

As expected no cut coming. The reason net income rose projected for the year is likely due to the decreased Wii U sales.

Suspect bundles though and some online stuff. The 'premium' deal on eshop titles thing could easily be made a better value proposition. Its a nice thing to have but packaged poorly.

Beause the rest of europe thread would be a wasteland with even less data than what we get now and it would just change from UK vs EU to Germany vs EU since thats the only other market we get anything meaningful other than chart positions with their sales awards.

The 3DS lineup this year is great. But the real problem, is WHY NoA is not even trying to give more colors for 3DS XL. In Europe, even the Pikachu 3DS XL one was launched, White 3DS XL too, even with a free Mario Kart 7 pre-installed, but here? Only two colors, a (REAL) limited pink-white and we don't even know if the Pikachu 3DS XL one will be here.
So, NoA has a much to blame in this case.

The net income rose due to currency evaluations, operating loss increased due to lower sales.

A price drop was never on the cards before April (next FY) at the earliest.

Operating income forecast was cut by half a billion dollars. Net income rose because of currency changes and no other reason.

I'd wager at least a minimum price cut around the holidays to go with Kart or 3D Mario, I mean that combo really helped the 3DS in Japan, naturally right now they shouldn't drop it if they can't afford to, but in 11 months, could be a different story.

Get some good out onto the eShop. I'll take Bayonetta: Climax Edition for a start...
...then Terranigma...

I'm sure Pikachu's coming over?
