Sim City is now down, the maintenance message is amazing #1

A friend of mine just got kicked out of his game due to "server maintenance", and the game auto shutdown. The best part? EA doesn't seem to know when it's coming back up! Check out the awesome message!

I think yesterday they were already having problems, fellow GAFFer.

I was watching a Stream of a guy playing and he could not play the game because of that problem. He raged, said he spent $60 on a new Coaster then muted himself and raged a bit more while throwing the Case, manual and DVD.

Are people targeting the Amazon reviews like with Spore? Seems like a good opportunity.

edit. Yes, yes they are

Unfortunately, yes.

Game is still good. Just got a shit DRM. Unfortunately if we still want to game going forward, we'll have to get used to this.

It's sad, because in those brief moments when the game is working, it's a lot of fun.

Unfortunately you have to wade through gallons of shit to get to the good stuff. Why they had to lock away even single-player sandbox mode behind their stupid server setup is classic EA bullshit.

My love for Sim City was almost about to win over my hatred for EA, but then I heard about all the issues people were having, and then this.... yeah, I feel kinda glad I didn't waste money.

That's because like the other games I play MP only, I would only play Sim City SP.

It's just my taste though.

I don't mind this game being always online but the microtransaction stuff worries me EA will screw up the Social stuff and make it all about spending the most money.

The social side is actually really exciting; but these issues should not be present. No excuses, its shitty service.

Nope, it just went up for preload and now it says release at 00:00 my local time, which is in less than 3 hours.

So well, technically that would be tomorrow :P
