Titanfall wins best overall game? A game that is another take on Call of Duty with exact same gunplay from what I've seen and XP ON SCREEN experience but with mechs? And it won over MGS V, Witcher 3 and The Division for crying out loud!? Christ gaming is in the shitter.

So if TitanFall won best game of E3, why did it not win best new franchise?

At this rate though, TitanFall may take CoD's place. It's just new enough to be interesting but familiar enough to attract the CoD crowd and it had the CoD pedigree.

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I liked the winners of best platformer and best PS3 game.

I didn't like the no nomination of FFXV for best trailer.

The biggest surprise is kinda useless now I think since Microsoft dropped DRM.

Most press didn't nominate it because it wasn't playable. Same with KH3. I think IGN wanted to give a special nod to those games. (Even though XV should have won best trailer)

How do games shown only in trailer form win something like "Best Wii U Game". I a mystified. And the 3DS list is just barren for seemingly no reason...

They didn't fix what wasn't broken, then they gave it fresh gameplay ideas and a new universe. Award deserved.

I can understand the appeal on some level for those who really can't get enough shooters but all these game of the show awards for it have me baffled. I thought it was kind of bland.

For me to get over my shooter fatigue it needs to be doing something new, like Destiny.

Yeah, they ran with a stale ass recipe, threw in some mechs - Amazing, what a stellar display of creativity! They need more awards, they need a sea of rewards they can swim in.

Destiny and Division both bring new and interesting next-gen ideas to the shooter - the online MMO aspect is brilliant. TitanFall is just a faster CoD with mechs and no real single-player campaign. Destiny and Division can be forgiven for that because it justifies the online aspect but TitanFall hasn't justified it yet.
