I know this game isn't finished, but most of the environment in these screenshots seems pale in comparison to the design in the previous Souls games. I will buy this game at launch, most likely, but I sincerely hope it isn't being rushed.

I really don't like the glowy white / red on the models in the Souls games. It smudges all the details off them.

The light is weird. It's like every object in the scene has his own lighting. The ambience is not unified.

This game still looks off, and after the beta, I can honestly say it feels off too.

We'd better hope that Miyazaki is working on Demon's Souls 2 because I'm getting more and more worried that Dark Souls 2 is not the Souls game we're looking for.

yeah, those screenshots are ugly as hell. I didn't think it was that bad during the beta. the game looks definitely better in the trailers they've shown.

then again, I'm glad they don't spoil too many locations in the game.

The castle is a little Boletaria-esque, I think it's the cartwheels on the bridge, lol.

They're not the most exciting bunch of shots though.

Didn't they say they've improved the graphics for this game? Dark Souls was far from ugly but my Durante modded Dark Souls looks better than this.

Definitely agreed. Some of the textures look quite bad to be honest, but I imagine most folks (myself included) will give it a pass because it's goddamn Dark Souls.
