Out of all the job professions that can be considered funny on television, I found that lawyers & attorneys are - by far - the most hilarious for some reason. The idea that a job that handles serious issues can be treated so unethically and incompetently by an either careless, insecure, unmotivational or just plain stupid lawyer cracks me up. Here's my list of favourite TV lawyers.
Jackie Chiles (Seinfeld)
Jackie's just great. His quick interactions with Kramer in trying to squeeze every piece of information from him in order to ensure he has a winning case is just genius. The funniest parts however do not come until later on in the episodes (or in the middle of the case) where Jackie has to question every dumb decision Kramer makes.

Barry Zuckerkorn (Arrested Development)
w/
Bob Lablow
Ever wondered how a single, loveless lawyer would act if his mind is focused more on getting women than winning a case? Barry Zuckerkorn is your best example. In every interaction with the Bluth family, his insecurity and nervousness evidently shows and at times his conversations will always meander into a re-telling of one of his many failed relationships (mostly with prostitutes). Funniest thing about Zuckerkorn is that whenever a huge problem comes to an end, a normal lawyer would always try to make sure everything is ok and tie off any loose ends. Zuckerkorn, on the other hand, will just immediately wash his hands and run away without any consideration. Such a hilarious lawyer.

Saul Goodman (Breaking Bad)
To balance out the dark elements of the show, Saul Goodman comes across as one of those openly blunt yet sleazy lawyers that always makes you wonder how and where they got their law degree. In the earlier seasons, Saul Goodman's witty comments and advice would have me in near stitches and the way he ran his law firm was so incredibly bad I was surprised at how he managed to stay in business. In later seasons, he did seem to calm down a bit but the advice he confidently dishes out to Walt (which to him seem acceptable) can still conjure up some laughs.

Harvey Birdman (Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law)
To be fair, every lawyer in this show needs to be mentioned. Their unique take on how to handle the law in a zany world like the Hanna-Barbera universe is funny and eye-opening at times. Harvey himself is the clean-cut goody two shoes lawyer that tries to do the right thing to win the case but always stumbles onto hilarious situations that distracts him no matter what. Various cases he takes up shows that he's trying to do his job in the most sensible way but the crazy shenanigans around him prevents him from doing so. If it's not handling his insane work colleagues then it's handling his even more insane boss. If you haven't seen the show then it's worth checking out.
Special mentions to Peter Potamus, Myron Reducto anad Vulturo.

Charlie Kelly (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia)
Not a real lawyer I know but he tries so hard and his dialogue with the show's attorney is just too funny to leave out from the list. Only started watching this show so I don't have much to say but whenever he goes into law mode it just leaves me in stitches. One day he'll outsmart that real attorney...one day....maybe in bird law

Lionel Hutz (The Simpsons)
How did I forget good ol' Lionel Hutz. The incredible lousy lawyer with the most charming smooth voice. The man doesn't need a reason as to why he's a funny lawyer. Just watch the video. You'll understand.
