Need for Speed: Rivals new 1,5GB patch (PS4)

I really hope it means I can get into games or my own single player game faster. Good God the main menu takes forever. (XB1 here)

Faster loading screens would be cool, it takes too long. Especially since you need to enter and leave the HQ so many times.

I hope its a patch to calm the cops the fuck down. I can't speed or race any where in this game without them swarming me. I know it's the point of the game, but I just want to race. Probably going to trade this in soon.

Probably DLC since it's so big.

No, just seems to be improvements for the online system. Stability fixes, host migration etc,...

I think it is this big because the PS4 redownloads all the older patches as well or something...

Got this game day 1 with my PS4 played it for 2 days then traded it for AC4, never ever going to buy another NFS game.

The real patch is around 500MB but the Sony system right now download all the patches together... so each new patch the size increase... the next one will be close to 2GB.

Wait, it downloads patches you've already installed again?

Exactly... all together... 1.01 + 1.02 + 1.03 + 1.0x

If Sony didn't fix that (seems like they will use the SOE patch system) when a game reach the patch 2.xx it will be close to 5GB or more.

Why would it redownload patches you already had, that makes no sense.
Because you have the patch but others guys didn't have it.

So it is the same patch to the guy that have all previous patches installed and to the guy that didn't have any patch installed... so the patch works for everybody.

They needs to change to the guy with no patch installed download the 1.5GB and the guys with all patches installed just download the last one.

They are working in that... maybe next firmware update.

I think the Xbox One patch was around 500mb too.. I downloaded it last night but can't remember exactly how big. Didn't take very long.

Cause the patching system only allows for 1 patch per game. Devs can't push out a small patch for people who have already installed the previous patches and a big patch for people who don't have any installed, it's just 1 patch that they keep adding data to every time they want to update the game. Which means every time a new patch comes out you're redownloading all the previous patches you downloaded for that game.

DCUO patches are currently ~7+GB's each cause of this crappy system no matter how small the changes actually are. SOE is working with SCE to implement a new patching system but it won't be ready till ~April.

Agreed. Finally finished racer career but most of it just made me angry - as you said, sometimes I just wanted to race. Cop career is a bit less rage-inducing so far.

Full DLC schedule.
The Need For Speed Rivals downloadable vehicle packs consists of one free-to-download vehicle pack and 4 additional vehicle packs which can each be purchased in their entirety or as 2 micro packs (Cop & Racer).

The paid packs consist of Cop* and Racer variants of additional vehicles with liveries which will be immediately available after purchase, once the tutorial has been completed.
The free to download Koenigsegg One:1 pack also consists of Cop and Racer variants with liveries. You must be rank 21+ to unlock it in-game for either faction.

As with all of the other vehicles in Need For Speed Rivals, each of the new downloadable vehicles can be modified with performance upgrades and visual customisation and have no restrictions on which events they’re eligible to participate in.

*Each Cop version has 3 variants as is the case on the base game; Patrol, Enforcer and Undercover.

ACCESSING THE NEW PACKS/VEHICLES
To get access to these new paid packs, you can purchase them through the in-game store or also through the PlayStation Network Store or the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
The free Koenigsegg One:1 will be available through the in-game store, as well as the PSN Store and the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Remember, you must be rank 21+ to unlock it in game.

PACK INFORMATION
Each downloadable vehicle set can be purchased as a Complete Pack (both Cops and Racers), or as individual ‘micro packs’ (just Cops or just Racers).
Cop micro packs come with 3 variants of each vehicle as is the case of the base game; Patrol, Enforcer, and Undercover.

Racer micro packs typically come with 2 unique liveries, but you can receive a bonus third livery when you purchase the Complete Pack (both Cops and Racers in one inclusive pack). The exception to this is the Simply Jaguar Racers pack which comes with only 1 livery in the micro pack, but you get 2 bonus liveries when purchasing the Complete Pack (3 total).

Simply Jaguar – available February 18th, 2014 - Now live on Xbox360 and Xbox One. Content will be available on PC and PlayStation (NA) later today (2/18), and PlayStation EU will be available tomorrow (2/19).
The Simply Jaguar Complete Pack contains Cop and Racer versions of the Jaguar XJ220 and the Jaguar C-X75 Prototype, each with 3 unique liveries.

This can also be purchased as 2 separate micro packs: Cops or Racers (Racers pack comes with 1 livery. Receive 2 bonus liveries with the Complete Pack).

Ferrari Edizioni Speciali – available February 18th, 2014 - Now live on Xbox360 and Xbox One. Content will be available on PC and PlayStation (NA) later today (2/18), and PlayStation EU will be available tomorrow (2/19).

This can also be purchased as 2 separate micro packs: Cops or Racers (Racers pack comes with 2 liveries. Receive 1 bonus livery with the Complete Pack).

Movie Pack – available March 11th, 2014
The Complete Movie Pack contains Cop and Racer versions of the GTA Spano, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, each with 3 unique liveries with the exception of the Setso Elemento which has 4 including the ‘stock’ carbon fibre livery.

This can also be purchased as 2 separate micro packs: Cops or Racers (Racers pack comes with 2 liveries. Receive 1 bonus livery with the Complete Pack)

Free to Download Koenigsegg One:1 Pack – available March 4th, 2014
The free Koenigsegg One:1 pack can be downloaded at any rank, but the Koenigsegg One:1 Racer and Cop variants will not be available for unlock until you are rank 21+ in that faction’s progression.

The Koenigsegg One:1 Racer Variant has the same upgrade and personalisation options as the base game cars with the exception of not being able to increase the top speed any further to preserve gameplay balance due to its already extremely high top speed. The Racer variant has 4 liveries including the stock which can be applied, 3 of which require purchasing with SP.

Yeah, hopefully it works like a cross between the PS3 and PS4 systems eventually. PS3 downloaded all the patches sequentially if you needed more than one, but not in the background. Be much better than downloading one giant patch for every little tweak.
