It's a pretty nice little rig depending on what you want to do with it. I use mine for light gaming, notes, work/video editing (think CS6/Final Cut) and whatever music stuff I'm working on, and it does the job. That said, with the recent lean towards current gen I've found it struggles to keep up. Stuff like Watch_Dogs and ACIV simply won't run at a playable framerate if you also want 1080p and low/medium settings.

Most recently I've been trying to play Grid: Autosport on it, and while it's definitely serviceable I can't really get even a solid 50 out of it on high/1080p, Even on slightly lower settings it tends to chug whenever there's a collision. TL;DR, it's a great laptop but don't expect to play any new releases, especially after this fall.

Oppo Find 7, my god this screen is incredible. The 2560 x 1440 timelapse vid i got for it looks amazing. unit resolution and build quality is exceptional.

Today I got to do a quick bit of shopping for games and all, and I picked up a ton of things I wanted for a long time:

Always wanted to play all of Shining Force 3, as well as the original .hack. And I finally got a replacement for my F-Zero GX I sold ten years ago. Now I just need a gamecube controller to play it. Got a few other games but these are the most interesting ones.

Oh and I also got this little keychain from a gachapon

Got some swag from Anime Expo yesterday; first time I ever went there, and there was SO MANY PEOPLE (putting it mildly).

The stuff I bought are
-Guilty Gear Xrd T-shirt (got a free mini poster to go with it; even tried the game! Too bad I sucked at it.)
-One Piece mug and folder (for my brother, who is a big fan)

The rest are free posters, a guide book, a calender, and a paper craft model.

Got the figures at mcdonalds and plan on getting the entire set for once except the fuckin hat.

The knife is a gerber ripstop. It fits my hand really well and easy to open. Dumbass me (second time) was showing off for my wife and cut my finger. Did the same thing with the last knife and was fuckin around now joking and did it again. So its sharp.

Ive played with it last night and found the following positives and negatives:

Positives:
the 2550 x 1440 resolution is so sharp and i got a timelapse video in the native resolution and it looks amazing. The build quality is very good as well. Quick charge feature is neat.

It has 120fps super slomo camera, 4K @ 30 fps and 1080P @ 60fps. It also makes automatic animated gifs.

Negatives:

1) The viewing angle - when i look directly at the screen, the screen is phenomenal. When i tilt it slightly..it just looks a bit darker and not as clear. I dont think this happened much with my Note 2.

2) Battery life - pretty inconclusive atm but i DONT see it lasting the whole day like my note 2 did. Usually by 8pm i had about 40-50% in my note 2. Maybe the 2550 x 1440 screen drinks more because i notice it may not be able to hold up to the task. Ill check it after work but these are my two feelings about it that are negative.

Everything else seems to be great,

I went to a local Salvation Army store, and I found an ASUS VS228H-P 1920x1080 21-inch monitor for $30! It goes for $130 on Newegg.

I'm really liking it so far. My HDTV broke months ago, so I haven't been able to play any games in HD regularly, so it's nice to finally play stuff Mario Kart 8 in HD. It looks fantastic. I also now have my computer hooked up via DVI, and it looks great, too.

My previous monitor was an I-Inc iF191A 1440x900 19-inch monitor that I got for free. It only had VGA, and the base of its stand was missing, so I had to make one out of wood to keep it standing. It also had some scratches on it.

This is a big step up. I was planning to order a new monitor off Amazon, since I'm planning to get an Xbox One soon, and I didn't have anything with HDMI that worked (besides the family TV downstairs, but that thing is never free), but now that's not necessary at all! Now I can save that money for games instead.

Stopped in Target with my son tonight and saw this for $37.48. They had 3 of them. Grabbed two (since the young apprentice has already stolen my chatpad): one to keep and will maybe sell the other. (Figure the 12-month Live card is usually around $40 on its own)

Finally got my Lumini from Tabu

Kickstarted their project back in February and last week they finally arrived.

Also got me a new Lamp to put the Luminis in. The warm white standard light and five other samples of the 16,7 Mio possible colors.
