This is probably sarcasm, but in case anyone missed it from the other thread...
Seems like a worse collect-a-ton game than AC4

Yeah, but it'll stop being newsworthy 2-3 years down the line.
I don't know - I felt MGS4 was visually spectacular. Its decent but look at the 2005 reveal trailer. The downdgrade is pretty significant in the final release. It had great lighting but the animations were straight from PS2 and the textures were some of the lowest in resolution I have seen on PS3. Its good that Kojima learned from this and developed a proper engine and the result is this beautiful MGSV.
The guy has a game to sell. That's how these things work.

I think finding a single MGS3 throwback frog totally is like completing 5% of the game. Much content, very fair price!

Surprise, surprise! We already knew where the definitive versions of multiplats were going to be: the PS4. The hardware specs told us so like over a year ago.
I think its crazy how people are still surprised by this.

Poor poor Cheech
...what? The % stats includes the side ops, time trials and such. The only collectables in the game are the XOF badges scattered throughout the base.
He probably has eyes
What do you expect them to do? Hey we built inferior hardware everybody! People want them to fess up or something. Nobody is going to do that.Do people at MS actually think that if they keep pretending there isn't a decent sized power disparity that somehow people will just forget?
Good play old sportAll I got from this is Kojima is not the working man I thought he was.
I'm not sure what you're implying here. I thought it was common sense that devs/pubs are going to downplay the differences in platforms in order to not damage sales of a game to people who can only buy the lesser version of the game (i.e. Xbone-only owners).
If anything, you should have expected the difference to be much bigger if the devs worked well on the PS4 versions.I was naive to think the developers would be able to get some sort of parity be it in performance over frame rate but that doesn't eve seem to be the case whatsoever so far. ;-;
I don't really understand his tweet. How can he finish it in 90 mins and only have 9% of the game complete?
Seems regardless though Kojima isn't really downplaying the differences that much now.

He is saying that out of the demo, only 9% is complete with a basic completion. The remaining 91% will be collectibles, side missions, time trials and so on.
Why does downplaying one version stop people who only own that console from buying it? Plenty of people bought inferior multiplats on Xbone at launch despite owning both-- CoD, BF...well, everything. If you told them, "You know, you're getting the shitty version,"--which they knew anyway and picked up the box while wiping away tears-- they're suddenly not going to buy it?
Didn't MGS4 look incredible when it launched?
If the Xbox One is going to keep getting lesser third party games Microsoft has to drop the price. No way can this $100 premium over the PS4 last.
But Kojima is not downplaying the difference here, at least according to the second tweet.
The gap will only increase as long as devs use the full power of the PS4 - we shall see I guess!
This isn't a PS3 situation, which had stronger hardware than Xbox 360, but was harder to develop for.
The Xbox One is simply inferior by a country mile and harder to develop for.
It's not like we're awash in high quality software.

Ah ok. Thanks. Then no one quite knows how long that will take, yet.
And it's precisely because of this fact that the gap between versions of multiplaform games will only increase as this generation unfolds. It's when games start to get more and more complex and resource hungry that differences in computing power become evident. If you think the differences now are minimal just wait a few years.Disagree. Both consoles use very similar architectures.
Well... it's official. We never have to make another PS4 version of game X is better. It should always be instantly assumed that it is. We should instead make threads when Xbone is better than PS4 as that will be the real surprise.
I think they happen mostly because the MS mafia is out there saying things like "have you seen Forza?" and constantly down playing it...but what else can they say? :/Well... it's official. Penello still finds it hard to believe.
