Inazuma Eleven confirmed for NA eShop release -- today!

Following the leak last month, Nintendo has confirmed during today's Direct that Inazuma Eleven will be released on the NA 3DS eShop... today.

I feel like, today is a personal victory. I came in to this Direct hoping for one thing and one thing only, and they actually exceeded my hopes. We're not only getting it, we're getting it TODAY.

It's just come up, for the very low price of $19.99

THIS IS SUPER-DIMENSIONAL SOCCER!

Wait seriously? But that's the DS game ;_;

3 is too actually. They ripped it from the Trilogy collection released in Japan in order to sell both versions separately, and this very Friday the Yellow/Crystal version is coming to Europe.

The first actual 3DS game SHOULD be coming to Europe later this year, so unless NoA burns through the others fast... yeah.

Wait, so this is the original DS Version?

I've never played any of them, so it's not a big deal, but how does the old one hold up?

This looks great. I had no idea this existed until just now. It looks like Soccer combined with a JRPG combined with a tactics game.

The first three games are almost exactly the same thing with different areas/cutscenes. To be honest, I wouldn't suggest playing all of them or at least not without a decent gap of time between them. 3 is the best one and you can start there without missing all that much, but unfortunately the English release is 3DS-only, so it's region-locked.

Will probably get it whenever I get around to upgrading my SD card in my 3DS.

It is basically the same localization as the DS one that Europe got?

Man I was really hoping with the World Cup coming they would just skip ahead to 3. It's a fair price so those who didn't already import should pick it up.

I actually own 1 & 2 (Fire Ver.) from my friend in Europe gifting it to me. Haven't put much time into it so one of these days I should.

Might actually bite on the NA release though, just because.

The first three were ported up to the 3DS in a trilogy collection not that long ago, so it's a good chance the one we're getting is the 3DS version for the eShop, whereas they got the DS version in Europe.

Ahh, I had no idea about the trilogy collection. This is a bummer because I've already played the first game on DS. I don't really want to buy the 3DS version, but I want them to release more IE games in North America :\

Anyone know if they changed anything (i.e. fixed the stupid early difficulty spike) in IE1 when they made the 3DS port?

I'm excited to see whether or not this is the case. Certainly the names are the same, but hearing 'Soccer Frontier' in the Nintendo Direct makes me think it might've been tweaked a bit.

Any chance if this does well that others make their way over? I'd totally buy the 3DS game if it was coming out today ;_;

This was probably my highlight from the Direct today. I've wanted to play this series and 19.99 is a good price.

With this, golf, and baseball, finally some good sports games popping up on 3DS.

so i have never even heard of this game until now.. basically don't know ANYTHING about it except for what i saw today..

i was super impressed.. so naturally my question is... do i miss anything by going straight to Inazuma Eleven 3?? Story wise at least?? do i have to know any backstory from the anime or manga or the first game??

i'm asking because i see Inazuma Eleven 3 and 1 in the Eshop (3 being sold for 34€)

This is supposed to be 1st game from Inazuma Eleven 1-2-3 collection that has already been released in Japan. So what, they expect us to pay $60 for whole collection?
