Oh shit Sudeki! Backlog got crazy when I had it on the OG Xbox so I never got past the midpoint but I'll gladly hop back in now. Not a perfect game by any means but it pretty fun.

The idea of having a fixed amount of enemies in the Far Cry 3 world that don't re-spawn was certainly an....interesting...design decision.

Yeah, that was actually 1 thing I liked about Far Cry 2. I would be cruising by an outpost I had already cleared only to find out all the guards had re-spawned and would have to clear it again.

There is an option somewhere in the settings to reset all the outposts you have already liberated, but I liked the idea of the randomly re-spawning guards.

The other thing I didn't like in Far Cry 3 is how you could essentially make areas "safe" by liberating outposts in an area making it such that you wouldn't run into random patrols anymore. They should have left it so that there would always be a possibility of running into random patrols.

Is there a place where people check to see whether a game is up in other countries or do they just experiment and hope for the best?

Visit the store of another region and see if it's in the New Releases tab.

For those games that were originally GFWL and eventually get ported to Steamworks, it would be nice if they automatically unlock the Steamworks version of the achievements you've already unlocked in GFWL, the first time you start the updated app.

(Not sure if this is the way it will work with Ace Combat, or if this was done with Batman AA and Bioshock)

FC2 kind of went overboard with the respawning, just traveling from place to place and having to deal with the outposts/patrols was just maddening, at least early on. I never finished it for mostly that reason.

I get this error about 75% of the time when making purchases on Steam, whether its buying a game or adding funds to wallet. It could be that the weekend sales are ending and a lot of people are trying to make purchases right now.

it's super annoying :/ trying to help with a purchase

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I fail to see how I can prevent Enhanced Steam to convert all prices in different currencies. I just want the price in my own money, that's it

I've been considering using a trainer to make it so that once you clear a post it's permanently cleared but I wonder how badly that might break the game. I guess it can't be worse that FC3, right?

Download page on enhanced steam. com seems to be down :(

Yeah, things get a bit crazy around 10AM when the deals change over. Should be back in a few minutes tops. I'm up to paying about $80 a month now in hosting and bandwidth fees. I have got a few donations this month though, so thank you everyone who has donated.

In the options you can disable it. For Chrome it's: Options -> Price -> Show Regional Price Comparison -> Set to "Never". In firefox just uncheck the box that says "Show Regional Price Comparison".

This is what I tried. It is set to "Never".
Not working, maybe a problem with cookies in Chrome.

I still have the big price box with UK,RU,CIS,US,EU,AU (and all those 35% up and down).

Do you have any other extensions installed? Enhanced Steam doesn't show CIS by default, which makes me think it's possibly the Steam Unpowered Price Comparison extension.

Does the box look like this?

Thinking of picking up Wizorb and Foul Play.

Anyone have any quick thoughts on those two games?

Wizorb is alright, it's basically Breakout with a slight RPG flavour mixed in. You have spells like a fireball to clear out a block, an option to launch the ball from anywhere on the board and a speed reset spell when things get to fast. There is also a tiny village building mechanic where you spend money you get from the levels to open up shops that can sell you extra lives or paddle extenders. It's not that fundamentally different from Breakout like say Shatter but the spells do help you finesse your way into clearing out the last few blocks. It also gets pretty challenging and trying to clear out a board can take a while to line up.

I got it because I played Breakout style games on the PC when I was younger but I don't think I would have liked the style of game as much without the nostalgia, especially locked to a monitor or TV.

Totally wanna purchase the Commandos games, but I told myself no game purchases until the next big Steam sale... though, I did just buy a Nintendo eShop card, so that kinda breaks the rule. And I bought a few Humble Bundles, but bundles don't count.

The first step is admitting you don't have a problem.

Okay, steamGAF I'm going to play a game. Don't give away anything good while I'm gone.

Does anyone here know of any resources someone like me could use to get started with making an indie bundle of my own?

I'd like to put an indie bundle site together where the proceeds would go to supporting Enhanced Steam's server architecture.

I assume I'll need to contact the game publishers and start there, but it would be nice if someone here has any experience with this sort of thing or could put me in contact with someone that's already been through this process that could give me some pointers.

Anyone played Runespell? Is it worth getting @ $2?
It was an okay game to me. The battle mechanics of building a poker hand with any loose cards on the field to create attacks seemed solid. What was a letdown were the very simple and rigid RPG mechanics and your equipment (consisting of cards) didn't seem to influence battles as much as I liked. I often felt I was teetering between dying or winning on a lot of the fights based on luck.

I couldn't get the game to run at all on either Windows 7 or 8.

Unrelated -- are there any games that run in real-time and stuff just happens in the game world without your input and without things descending into chaos / madness? Example would be the X games, where you can just park in a space station and everything in the universe just does its own thing.

Hey just posting to celebrate (+ subscribe to) the new thread :)
Won't be able to keep track of everything going on for the next month or so due to intense travelling (as some may know), but I'll still try to come by to see what's going on once in a while!

Man I really like Guacamelee, at least the first hour and a half of it. The memes and references are dumb/funny but the gameplay is simple and nice plus I like the lightweight exploration.

I like Wizorb a lot, and if you like Breakout style games then it's a good one to have in the library. It gets really challenging (just look at the global achievement stats) because you have to beat a whole run of (IIRC) 10 levels at a time in order to save your progress. You can sort of grind your way through the upper levels by replaying the lower ones for money, though -- which lets you buy powerups and extra lives.

That Ubisoft sale was a bit disappointing. Hoping for some if those other obscure games to at least be 50%. Hoping Rayman was 75% off.

But we got the usual: Ass Creed, Far Cry, and Splinter Cell, games we already probably have!

Guacamelee gets rather difficult and you'll have to string together several moves just to get around obstacles. That said, it's a pretty even difficulty curve, and the game slowly builds you up to these moves.

Best decision ever.

eh.

I'd prefer some roaming patrols every now and then. Now that all the outposts on the first island are clear, the whole thing is pretty desolate. Other than some animals that are basically LMG fodder, there isn't much to shoot.

I get that it wouldn't make much sense from a story aspect, but it makes the game play pretty boring after everyone is dead.

It may not help, but I know the guys who got their comics in the latest Groupee Bundle. I could check with them and find out. Hopefully someone will have a better answer though.

I played Runespell some, seemed like my type of game, but it's not particularly fun or addictive, I guess some genres just don't go good together.

What I find hard stopping myself from buying is Wizorb, it looks so fun just in trailer, it's really hard.
