Probably wont buy this, unless it was due for next-gen, bit put off by it anyway if its censored. Dont like anyone telling me what I can or cannot watch/play of an adult nature, being an adult.

We don't know for certain whether or not the censorship applies to the PC version. Ubi's yet to clarify the matter.

Well the review guide on the first page only mentions the console versions have been censored, not PC as well.

I would imagine if it was all versions of the game they would of said.
But the fact that they say console versions of south park are cut makes me also believe that the PC is exempt of this fact.

This is why I'm getting a retail physical copy of the game for the PC and not letting it update.

Figured the butthurt police would be out in force for this one.

I weighed in on that in the OT:

I'd be wary of taking the review info sheet at its word: some of the patch notes are PS3-specific and so it could very well be a PS3 variant of the document; ergo, the censorship warning at the bottom, while specific, could be contextual (i.e. it only mentions the console versions because the info sheet is for a console version).

I'm not saying it's likely, but it is a possibility.

Then again, you would think Eurogamer must have received their own review copy complete with the info sheet and knows how to interpret that kind of documents. That is if they just didn't report the news without any sort of further research on the matter.

What! It's not like we shoot dead doctors who perform abortions in the UK (so far as I'm aware). Why pick on us for this stuff vs US?

Mind you they have just ducked some serious Daily Mail outrage here.

I think I just 'forced' an answer from Ubisoft:

This makes absolutely no sense.

- why censor an 18+ game?
- why only in Europe?
- why only the console version?
- South Park of all games?

FFS Ubisoft.

Pre-order cancelled.

So I have a feeling that marketing decision is somehow related to what content MS and Sony want on their platform. I can't think of any other explanation.

Lucky for me I got the PC version, so I am golden.

Good job mate. At least there's still the PC version to look forward to.

The Minimum Requirements are also pretty damn low, which is an added bonus. Anyone with a PC made in the past 5-6 years should be able to enjoy the game lol.

No really, first time I get to use that sentence and actually mean it.

I'll buy it from the US PSN instead but nevertheless, it's-a cancelled.

Physical? Are digital versions not censored?

I think that was just (unnecessarily) specific on GMG's part as it doesn't sell digital console games whereas it sells both physical and digital PC games.

Wait, that can't be true. They would have to at least remove the swastikas and other Nazi symbols from the German version.

Edit: Okay, scratch that. I just remembered they do have different versions for the Steam release. That one version for all of Europe business was console specific.

Abortion is legal in America despite some people being unhappy about it. It wouldn't make sense to censor it here either.
abortion is more of a red button topic in america, judging from how obsessed the media gets over it.

it got brought up maybe... once in four years here in the uk

Where are people getting their PC copies from anyway? I just got both Thief and LoS2 for around £22 each which is what I'm looking for with South Park. Haven't had much luck so far though. Maybe I'll actually end up having to pay RRP (shock horror)....

Censoring a South Park, lol.
Censoring an 18 rated game, lol.
Hope the PC version is uncensored, even them I'm not sure if I wanna support Ubi if they're pulling crap like this.

Swastikas are removed from the German version. That was always a given. (It's the law after all) Otherwise the PC version is uncensored in Germany.

You can grab a copy from Nuuvem for approximately 25.60 Britishbucks. Most of us who opted for the PC version bought it for ~$20 through traders on Steam but Ubi closed that loophole about a week ago.

Yeah, might be more a MS/Sony thing than Ubi's fault.

I wasn't interested in this game but the heck, this getting too trendy over Europe these days. God bless PC, region free consoles and free costs on digital DD. God of War Ascension and The Last of Us multiplayer censorship was heart hurting.
This only is solved with any kind of censorship = no sale.
