Reads the title: Disappointing, but she probably had her reasons.

Reads the text in OP: WHAT THE HELL!?

Perfect rendition of my reaction too.

But oh well we'll never know why or who was in the wrong. Something must not have been working out or this wouldn't have come to pass.

As for the Neil and Bruce comment, they aren't the presidents of the company. They don't have the power to force someone out. Only people with that kind of authority are these guys:

It must have been pretty recent. Her Twitter profile is yet to be updated and her last uc4 related tweet was feb 23 with Todd Stashwick.

If all of this is true, could this mean Naughty Dog is returning to a primarily one game at a time studio?

Sounds more like a simple "creative differences" departure to me.

I need more confirmation than this...It just doesn't make any sense at all. Please don't get Neil and Bruce stuck on Uncharted, they have so much more potential.

Hennig being forced off Uncharted + Druckmann/Straley being forced on Uncharted is a pretty bad double whammy. I'd much rather see them advancing TLoU or a new IP.

If this is confirmed then it is a major loss for Naughty Dog and the idiotic fanboys trying to downplay her amazing work over the last decade are an embarrassment to this forum.

What are you talking about?

No one is downplaying her talent, just seems that if it did come down to a confrontation then the guys who have created Naughty Dogs best work are likely to come out on top, especially while her last project was below the quality of the previous title.

Damn SonyGaf must really like UC3 more than UC2. I thought UC3 story was pretty subpar, especially since the main antagonist wasn't used to her fully potential. It could've been wayyyy better imo...

i need more sources or official word on this, its kind of unbelievable.

for what its worth i thought Uncharted 3 was amazing

Peer pressure is what I believe the source is saying, they sort have gave Amy the cold shoulder and she felt not wanted and left is what my interpretation is if this is true

It's weird that the source claims that Niel/Bruce forced her out because they wanted to work on Uncharted. Every public comment they've made about their next project is either a TLOU sequel or a new IP.

They wouldn't force Amy out if they didn't think they could do a better job... Plus most of her idea's are in effect if it is to be believed it was to come out this year

Am a fan, sad to see her leave one of my favourite studios.

On the bright side, hopefully she lands at a studio quickly and gets an new awesome project up and running soon. A still great new Uncharted and a great new Amy Hennig led game? Best possible future.

Richmond might be leading TLOU team maybe if Druckmann and Starley is on UC4, what is that other teams supposed to be do.

Justin Richmond IS the game director for Uncharted PS4. I'm not sure it makes any sense to just take him off the project and replace him with Bruce Straley

suddenly only writing was the only problem in uncharted 3... direction was horrible, the gameplay was horrible... writing was not bad. the supernatural/sci fi stuff was not forced like it was in the previous series.
She was the director

She is a good writer. Is she necessarily a good director?

You seem to forget she was also a director on the much "loved" UC2.

UC3 was my least favorite of the three mainline Uncharteds, but it was still a fantastic game. Amy Henning played a crucial role in all three, and her loss is disappointing.

We'll see how the series continues without her involvement. I have confidence in the many talented individuals remaining at Naughty Dog, but let's not pretend like she doesn't matter or try to spin her departure into being a good thing.

Why are people going nuts? We know nothing other than she's gone from Naughty Dog. We don't know the reasons or circumstances.

Sad fate for both. Best wishes to Amy and hopefully she rebounds from this with something even more glorious. I rather have Bruce and Neil work on some new IP than be stuck with helming Uncharted again.

What the heck!!! What are you doing Sony by letting go your cream :/

I just don't like the 'forced out' part which is weird considering she did a great job at ND.

Do you think in those statements they planned to reveal that they wanted to take over Uncharted or that they were going to try and get her to leave?

I'm sure they could do an equal or better job. It's just not an IP that I find very exciting anymore.

As the lead animation director on Michael Jordan: Chaos in Windy City, I will follow her into hell and back.

Technically, I already have.

I hope she's off making her own studio at Sony or something. Full creative control, writing brilliant narratives, making amazing games...

I can dream, right?

If not, let her write a new Tomb Raider. Or something way cooler. Hrmph.

I wanted to like you Druckmann, even though you relied on cutscenes too damn much, I wanted to like you...
He made some douchey comments before on twitter and even threw colleagues like Cage at QD under the bus at some point and then promptly deleted the tweets after the backlash.
While I really like Bruce, I wasn't really sure what to make of Neil until this point even though he seems to be a pretty good writer. This certainly doesn't bode well for my opinion of him (if true).

Stig's IP being canceled and Amy leaving Naughty Dog... Sony's WWS have done a bang up job of an absolutely shitty impression and the generation has barely even started. What the fuck?... Is she leaving Sony WWS as well? What a spectacular failure if this is true from Sony's part.

As long as everyone' snot forced to work on Uncharted games now, this is no big deal to me. The best parts of those games are the set pieces, not the writing. I thought U3 had pretty bad writing/plotting actually. TLOU raised the bar for ND quite a bit.

I always liked Uncharted 3. It's my second favorite in the series. But the general sense I got from UC3 threads was that people here thought it was weaker than the second and even first game. Some even had it lower than Golden Abyss (granted not many - but it still says something).

Blame IGN, for putting the "forced out" speculation bit in there. They need the clicks. Gotta stir up that drama!

Pretty poor form on IGNs part to report a rumor of being "forced out". Maybe it's true, but that is one hell of an accusation without having solid proof.

Wow that's bullshit. Part of the reason I liked ND was their diversity.

I actually think I enjoyed U3 more than TLoU in the long run.

Maybe we should wait for more information before painting Neil Druckman as an a-hole? Sucks that she's gone, but this whole 'forced out' thing needs more clarification. Or we can just continue doing what were doing and jump to conclusions, cursing at people and situations we don't even know.

Did everyone suddenly forget how bad the story was in Uncharted 3? How the villain and her motives didn't make much sense? How lame that ending was? If the guys who led Uncharted 2 saw her unfit as a writer for Uncharted 4 then I don't have any problems with it.
