Spolier: You play as Jack the Ripper and Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes and Mary Jane Kelly are Templars.

Now that's something I would play.

I still waiting on my modern AC, get on it Ubi.

God I can imagine them doing this for weeks. Just walking up to people that look like gamers and showing them the game in hope that some viral material comes from it.

The fact that mods haven't specifically commented on OPs information makes me think that this is legit (or it could mean nothing, who knows).

They'll probably announce it next week, if not on Friday. I'm pretty confident the only reason we haven't heard about it yet is because Rocjsteady is having their return party of sorts.

It's very obviously a controlled leak. Same poster had ACIV details last year.

See. This is why everyone should own a Vita. We wouldn't' have this information if not for the beloved handheld.

They really have no way of knowing. All we have is OP's word.

Now if Assassin's Creed V information comes out and it's the complete opposite of what OP said, I imagine he'll have some explaining to do.

Well, unless someone else already confirmed details with us that match this. Or this guy is ntkrnl. Or he's Reggie. Or I'm Reggie. Or we can't confirm this and it just seems plausible? Who knows?

Not sure about that. They should rather keep doing historical settings, preferably ones that are rarely used in games generally. The gameplay of a modern AC could certainly be interesting, but the setting is just boring.
Besides, there's Watch Dogs.

However, something else I've been thinking of: What about an AC equivalent of Far Cry: Blood Dragon? An AC in some kind of surreal or absurd setting that doesn't take itself seriously. Assassin's Creed: Wonderland. Assassin's Creed: Mars. Assassin's Creed: Stone Age. Animal's Creed.

So I'm a bit confused by all the AC rumors that have been swirling. We're getting two AC games this year? One in Paris/London, one in Russia??? Help me out here :S

Sounds like something I'd skip and just wait for AC6: Japan. The AC games don't have good enough gameplay for me to want to play them every year. I was getting real tired of it towards the end of AC4.

If true, what is it with Ubisoft's current fetish for killing us English.

Also, if we play a Frenchman, will the game be called AC5 'White Flag'?

How about Ass Creed: On a Plane?
CBOAT's newly reborn alias?

Anyway, if the story is true, even if the stranger didn't tell his name it would be rather easy to expose this leaker to Ubisoft if the guy was traveling on business. OP just needs to post the flight info and Ubi cross checks their records. Even if it was a personal trip, a coworker may have know his vacation plans. Seems risky unless he's a shot caller that answers to no one.

I want to see this badass right here in the game:

Eugène François Vidocq

Wikipedia said:
The former criminal became the founder and first director of the crime-detection Sûreté Nationale as well as the head of the first known private detective agency, Vidocq is considered to be the father of modern criminology and of the French police department. He is also regarded as the first private detective.[4]

Dude would totally fit in with the Assassins.

What if, WHAT IF, the press release was just a draft?!

I hope this info is wrong, because it sounds like a boring setting, and too similar to AC2-3. I'm really hoping for something more exotic with architecture and such that we just don't see much, like ancient Egypt, Aztec, Maya and the like.

Thats why they are doing it. A France and England setting let them reuse alot of their assets. France looks basically like Italy.

An AC game set in Egypt would mean lots of work because of the unique architecture like you said.

Well, another insider with a pretty good track record on this board has presumably teased that it might be set in France and/or London. I wasn't sure if he was just guessing or teasing, but this certainly gives credence to that. We will see if it pans out.

All these plane related leaks are beginning to sound fishy. I wouldn't be surprised if out of their one billion employees, Ubi have their own small 300 person team (ubi definition of small) "leak" department with a whole team working on managing and writing controlled leaks. They must be at super saiyan 4 levels of marketing strategies by now.

Someone in their department must've been stalking krimsoncharge, then went to the trouble of find out his travel plans, getting a plane ticket to sit next to him in the hope of him leaking the info on GAF. Money well spent. I can just imagine a typical day in the ubi empire.

Yves Guillomot: How much did we spend on marketing last year generic employee #44542

generic employee #44542: I don't know sir, the number was too big to fit on the system

Yves Guillomot: Hmm...? Not enough then. We need to go bigger. And however many minions..err...I mean employees we have now, I want that multiplied by ten before the end of today or your fired. Also, I want a department for everything, and I mean everything. I want marketers for our marketers!

generic employee #44542: Of course sir, as you wish.

Yves Guillomot: How many AC games do we have in development again? I lose track.

generic employee #44542: Five sir. One on current gen, one on last gen, one for current gen 2015, one of last gen 2015 and one for...vita. I have no idea who greenlighted the vita project. Says something about a cancelled wii u project here also.

Yves Guillomot: What? Is that it? I can count that number on one hand. And what's a Vita or wii u for that matter?

This situation of a GAFer sitting on a plane close to a secrets-spilling dev sounds familiar...

Exactly, lol. Well, if true, I'll play it. I'm down with a Victorian England/Paris setting. But for AC6, I damn well better be seeing a setting in Egypt, India, Japan, or AC:Vikings.

Cool if true. Would love if they got back to the what II was like

Cplane?

With the info I read the first thing that popped up in my head was

"Assassins Creed 3 Part Deux"

Not like this would be a sequel to Assassins Creed 3, but it will have similar issues and problems.

a random guy on a plane tells you he's a dev, tells you stuff about the next game, and you believe him?

sounds legit

Remember when THIS EXACT THING HAPPENED LAST YEAR.

A dude saw a slide deck on a plane that was pirates, called "Black Flag" etc.

Apple didn't leave a new phone in a bar two years running. Come on Ubi...

I know ubisoft said they don't care about the titles being chronological so it would make sense, and the war of independence (whether from england or america's side) is a lot more interesting than the indian war or spanish-american war

Ubileaks strikes again

Not sure if a Paris+London setting makes sense.

Previous AC games were announced in early march, we should have new info coming soon, unless Ubisoft waits until E3/watch dogs release.
