In f/F you can't really safe the star notes, so as long as you are giving inputs you should at least keep your combo up. When the long chains hit in songs like Freely Tomorrow just swipe like crazy and it will work.

For F with the sticks I would alternate left/right and it would work just fine. Oddly enough I am horrible at alternating inputs for the regular buttons.

In F2 I believe as a help item they are adding in the ability to activate star notes with buttons. This is great because you can safe star notes in F2. They also have to do something to make it work w/ vita TV.

Except "touchscreen equal bad" is exactly what his entire argument is, and he hasn't articulated any reason for his dislike beyond that. Review exactly what he's said so far (emphasis mine):

I'm not certain why you feel swiping a touchscreen is not similar to scratching a turntable - and unlike the game with the dedicated controller, Project DIVA never asks the player to both scratch and hit buttons at once - but at that point there isn't much to do except agree to disagree.

The only thing in those comments I see is the Wii-Waggle syndrome remark. But whatever. I'm actually not even sure that is a wholesale disregard for the touchscreen as an input device and more just a slam on the game itself.

And no, you will never convince me that swiping on a screen is anything like scratching on an actual physical object. Do you touch something with your fingers and move them back and forth? Yes. Thats as far as the similarities go.

Don't forget to check out www.sonyrewards.com with your SEN account, I had over 1k points which allowed me to get free $10 credit on SEN! Pretty happy about that.

Once your account is linked on sonyrewards, does it automatically know about any SEN purchases you make?

i bought NFS at full price prior to going on a work trip, and I don't regret it. definitely worth it on sale

i brought my vita upstairs and played a bit of tearaway in bed last night, great game i have been neglecting for too long!

How is the NFS framerate? I'm really sensitive to framerate issues.

I really wish scratch notes were graded the same as the regular inputs, because all that does is give in to the "touchscreen equals bad" argument. I've never had issues with the scratch notes and all the relaxed grading does is breed bad habits.

The main issue with the implementation on analog sticks is the frequency of misfires - releasing the stick and letting it return to neutral bounces the stick in the opposite direction, causing a phantom input. Because of the relaxed grading this just results in more noise and perhaps an extra Good where there should have been none, but if the grading was normal the extra input would probably cause combo breaks during scratch sequences.

The help item that changes scratch notes to button inputs already exists in f/F.

The only thing in those comments I see is the Wii-Waggle syndrome remark. But whatever. I'm actually not even sure that is a wholesale disregard for the touchscreen as an input device and more just a slam on the game itself.

He was immediately dismissive of the entire game simply because it had a mechanic that made use of the touchscreen and he made a statement that stated his belief any game that uses touch mechanics are guilty of implementing pointless gimmicks. Nothing in his statements suggests anything beyond that.

And does the screen itself not count as an "actual physical object"? I think it's a novel way to add variation to the gameplay given the platform they released the game on.

This is actually how I paid off Project DIVA - I had over 5,000 points which equated to $50 in PSN credit. I would have more if I had remembered to fill out the bonus point form for stuff I bought since, like my second Vita from Radio Shack (gotta fill in a form within 90 days to get extra points for buying Sony stuff from most retailers).

I don't know much about how the accounts link, but I get bonus points by replenishing my PSN wallet with my PlayStation card.

Ok so I'm playing Miku and everything is going fine. I unlock the song I'd been waiting all along for (World's End Dance Hall) and am really enjoying it among other songs. All of a sudden, I unlock a song that I am assured will be the death of me....fucking
Nyanyanyanyanyanya!

Mikuuuuuuuuuu! Why do you torment me with this awesome remix of a song I've manage to break the hold it had on me not too long ago. I'd seriously listen to the Nyan Cat song on repeat on a daily basis and had honestly forgot all about it. Sigh, i guess its back to the 10 min youtube vids. Damn you rainbow shitting cat!

Fake edit: Jus checked YouTube and there is a 10 hour video of Nyan on repeat O.O

I found what looks to be a Senran Kagura [music?] app on the playstation store, but once I launch the application I end up stuck on the below screen.
not that I mind ^^

now the shurikens in the corner are rotating which would lead me to believe the app is downloading date.. but honestly this is all guess work, so any help with a quick translation would really be appreciated.

Looks like the app created "soundtrack data" on your card, and then is asking you to close the app (?).

The help item that changes scratch notes to button inputs already exists in f/F.

Did not know that, but don't really use the help items. In either case, F2 grades stars more strictly so it should be interesting to see how that works in practice.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. I think you're predisposed to look for anything that could be construed as a dismissal of the platform. I don't think he believes any game that uses touchscreen mechanics do so for pointless gimmicks. I think he believes that game has touch implementation that detracts from his enjoyment of it. Touch screens are everywhere and in everything. Their validity and practicality are already proven. Nobody would argue against that.

The screen itself is a physical object, but the object you are manipulating is not a physical object. There are countless differences between manipulating a tangible piece of hardware and using the conductivity of your fingers to manipulate electromagnetic fields on a sensor sandwiched on top of an LCD screen mimicking an actual object.

One guys novelty is another's gimmicky trash.

btw can someone tell me
why can't devs do what GG is doing with KZ:Shadowfall MP (the faux? native 1080p) to make games run on native res on Vita :/

From what little I've read that technique takes a lot of CPU power.

It says that it created the soundtrack data on your memory card, now please close the application. Assumedly the application doesn't do anything else, just creates said data.

Says the soundtrack data has been created on the memory card and that you can close the application. It just saved the mp3 files to your Vita's music app.

:/ bummed but GG Cambridge did a beautiful job with KZ:M

Graphically the game looks nice, but I just can't get past the first mission. I've played the first 15 minutes of that game about 4 times now and I just can't make it past that part that is EXACTLY LIKE the Control Center mission in Goldeney where Natalya is hacking the computers or whatever. Each time I lose interest and turn it off.

Im the same way although I did get about 3 missions in. Game is fuckin beautiful and runs perfectly but the single player is just so bland.

Killzone Shadow Fall (PS4) is Full Trial during all this week.
No idea if this is new or not, but I didn't notice until now.

Just checked and I have 492 points. Then I checked out what I could get and it was a bunch of avatars and a lens cap. What I found curious though is how do you sell out an avatar?

Thanks for the reminder. I didn't know points expire. :/

Now what should I do with 3200 points?

There's really no point discussing this any further if that's what you see. Thanks for wasting my time though.

If you think differently, then word your argument in a way that doesn't make it sound like you're saying so.

I spent a good ten minutes that should have been part of my commute making those GIFs, I'd at least like to hear what you think of that corollary. I'm 0 for 1 on people thinking it's a valid comparison so far!

Didn't really see anything I wanted on that Sony Rewards that I could afford. Why can I only add 2 $10 PSN cards to my cart? :(

If you're using the US PSN you still can get points by linking your accounts and redeem digital codes. The amount is insignificant though, unless you're spending a lot they'll expire before you can afford a $10 card (1000pt).

I am not. Too much hassle bouncing accounts around.

That or I'm just lazy

Well, it's hard to force you to read the entirety of my post or not to misconstrue every single sentence. I mean, you completely ignored the part about covering the screen and the lack of feedback, two things which I consider kinda important in a game like Project Diva. And then you somehow came to the conclusion that I dismissed every single game using touch controls when I specifically mentioned that I've merely had mostly negative experiences with the implementations on Vita and singled out Tearaway as a positive one. If you read my posts as "touchscreen equals bad", there's little I can do. I wasn't exactly using difficult language there so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I also don't think your Beatmania straw man is really that important to this discussion and I don't really get why you brought it up either. I know that it's supposed to simulate scratching but I simply don't care about that since the negatives outweigh any enjoyment I could get from pretending. In my opinion it's a poorly implemented mechanic and one of the reasons why I won't buy Project Diva. It's not about the movement of your fingers but I'm sure you knew that already. Nice gifs though.

And that's all I have to say about the matter.

Do you have tracking or insurance? Customs is a bitch.
I actually called NY to get the airbill number for customs and they were able to find my package in the USPS tracking system within 5 minutes and so then I could keep tracking it that way.

I cheaped out and didn't get a tracking number or insurance... is there any way for me to see if it is stuck in Customs?

Hey guys, wasn't PixelJunk Monsters HD for Vita part of the EU PS+ IGC?
IGC ads banners have only 4 games this month: Tomb Raider, Brothers, Dead Nation and Smart As, that's all?

On the pc store it's not free.
I initially thought that it was just an error, but there's no sign of PJM on IGC ad banners, it doesn't look like a simple error to me.
One of the community guys tweeted about it being up yesterday. I didn't get it because I already own it.

Import a 64GB.
If you plan to get PSX, PSP and mostly digital Vita Games even 32GB is quite poor.

Okay so you sort of targetted my concern without me even bringing up which is good. I didn't want to beg for what I was wanting to hear. Where might I look into importing one?
